Jurassic Bark from Futurama for me. That puts me in a rut I cant get out of for days

I honestly don't think I can read or watch Still Alice again. Just brutally sad and scary. Barely got through them the first time.

Drawn Together as a whole. I liked it back when it was relatively new, even if they were "a bit much," but then their movie went so far out of the way to be offensive that it just sucked and made the rest of the series awful retroactively.

I'll still refer to the clip ot Clara going "goddamnit I hate you" when someone makes a terrible pun (worse than any I could ever make.)

Rurouni Kenshin comes to mind first but I'm not sure that's really in the spirit of the question

The Revenant. After hearing so much about it the entire thing was incredibly morbid, dire and depressing for me. Can't watch it again ever I think because the viewing experience just became unpleasant

Honestly most media these days. My patience to rewatch/replay anything is wearing thin. But in the spirit of the question, which is "really depressing or dark things" then probably "that one episode of FMA: Brotherhood" is up there for me. I rewatched the series twice and both times skipped it.

Did you watch any of the Futurama movies? I think it's the first movie but they basically retcon Jurassic Bark so that it's not sad anymore.

Last Black Man in San Fransisco had me in a bad spot for a while after. Also not sure if I could handle Shoplifters or Manchester by the Sea again

great movie, really didn't care for the book

i have no idea how the movie could be a fraction as affecting as the book, and its naming of the characters gives me no faith it's good

12 Years a Slave is the main thing coming to mind, but there are probably others that were brilliant but emotionally wrecked me to a similar extent

Nah, I cry like a little baby back bitch at the tiniest of sentimental moments in movies/songs, but none of it has ever gotten me so bad that I couldn't experience it again. Same thing with gore/disturbing shit, I might cringe or have a wtf reaction in the moment, but again none of it has ever hit me so hard I couldn't watch it again.

Doki Doki Literature Club just puts me in an intense feeling of helplessness, it gets really bad.

Plenty of movies come to mind that are well-made but hit too close to home and/or are too upsetting. La La Land is one of my favorite movies and I've seen it a bunch of times, but I don't know if I can watch it again - certainly not anytime soon. Tilt was effective - good filmmaking - but also so psychologically disturbing and repulsive that I think it borders on an ethical question whether it should have even been made.

not sure i'd ever watch the kidnapping episode of six feet under again, even if i did a full series rewatch.

ooh, House in Fata Morgana probably eventually. I THINK I will make it through this run and I might even come out the other end liking it, but I am not going through some of those scenes again.

Honestly not really as I find a lot of shocking content loses its power the more you experience it. However, Undertale would be my answer too not because its too much but because it feels like I would be betraying the point of the game if I did!
