I remember being a freshman in high school with the og 360. Going for the 7 day survivor(14 hours straight survival) of dead rising 1. I made it to day 5. At the time, we lived in a small house and my room shared a wall with my parents bedroom. I had a towel wrapped around the Xbox because my parents said it was too loud.

i risked RROD for this achievement. As soon as I got the day 5 achievement my dad went in my room and shut the Xbox off.

At best it'll take you 600 hours to unlock this trophy. But it is more likely you'll spend closer to the 1000-1400 hour range on it. Good news is that you'll get basically every other trophy along the way to unlocking this one.

"Lowest of the Low" from Crypt of the Necrodancer. Which is All Characters Mode(9+ consecutive all zones mode runs with DLC installed) but getting low percentage with each one, which means no shrines or picking up items. Now the real kicker is that all characters includes Aria, whose max health is half a heart with no way to raise it even under normal circumstances AND she takes damage when you miss a beat.

Don't even get me started on the fact that I can't beat Aria's final boss.

I never played the game myself, but I believe lost planet 2 has a achievement/trophy where you have to be on top of the online leaderboard for something or another. Stupid shit like that .

There are so many of them that are extreme completion grinds or multiplayer grinds, especially from the 360 era. Seriously 2.0 in Gears of War 2 was a famous one.

Probably either Becoming a Lightning God from Metal Gear Rising Revengeance or A Real Challenge from Bionic Commando Rearmed. I got them, but never again.

I've done 7 day survivor twice. It's not difficult, just takes 14 hours.

Team Fortress 2 has an achievement for getting 100,000 real Youtube views on a replay you upload from the game. How's that for unfair?

I think I'd be much more excited if there were speed run related trophys, but i havent seen a lot of that.

I recently got the platinum trophy for mega man 11, and one of that game's hardest trophies is having to beat the game in under 60 minutes. Only 0.9 percent of players did it. You can always check this one out if you want.

That actually does sound like a lot of fun.

Path of pain. Could be the input lag on the switch, but I just can't do it and don't feel prepared to invest time in it.

switch has ruined some experiences, for as much as I love the console. Like, it freezes up sometimes when I'm in the fishing minigame on stardew valley. Sometimes it bugs out and makes it impossible to catch some of the more difficult fish.

One of these I like is in Death's Gambit: Afterlife where you have to beat the game without closing it at level 1 in under 4 hours.

All the achievements from Super Meat Boy for beating entire worlds without dying once.
That or some of the harder ones from Rabi Ribi. Some of those special bosses are absurdly difficult.

In Wolfenstein: New Colossus, there's an achievement to finish it on the hardest difficulty with only one life. So if you get killed you gotta start over.

I worked on that for a few months but never got past the trial level.
Before i gave up i could basically recite the whole first half of the game

There have been some multiplayer ones that were literally impossible.

I think it was either Chrome Hounds or an Armored Core game. One was win 10k matches, the other was be the number one ranked player in a game that the top 20 in the leader boards were hackers.

All of them.
I mean it.
I literally don't care for trophies/achievements, as them not granting any useful in-game rewards makes the pursuit of them a waste of time and energy.

Nope, I guess the devs thought beating it with them was its own challenge.

Big DOS FPS/Retro/Boomer shooter player. Basically any achievement that reads something like:

Beat insert game on fuck you difficulty in under short window.

Most of these would simply make me tear my hair out so I know theyll probably never happen with the amount of time I have to play games these days. Old school FPS games are often hard on Normal difficulties, never mind the hardest skill.

Honourable mention to any of them that basically require you to clock 1000+ hours. Some arent necessarily hard, but again, dont have time anymore for the most part even if I like the game.

"The Ultimate", in Pillars of Eternity 2.

It switches on every other God Challenge difficulty modifier, as well as activates Solo mode (you must play without any companions), Trial of Iron mode (you only have one save file and when you die it's deleted), and Path of the Damned mode, the hardest difficulty.

So solo on the hardest difficulty with no deaths, while taking on the hardest content with a whole host of other restrictions on you.

Obsidian/Josh Sawyer will send you a reward if you do and add you to an engraved plaque in the office.

This. But if I had to pick specifically, it would be story mode trophies. Stuff like "clear story mode X amount of times", or on some higher difficulty. I mainly play fighting games so a good majority of my gaming is done with friends, either online or at their houses/a local college on weekends.

Is madness. I got confused with the first game and second though. Was the second one they did all that, and it makes the first one look like a walk in the park.

Fuck basically all online achievements, except for some co-op ones that don't require X amount of kills/matches.

I forget the name of it, but it was hailed as the hardest achievement on the 360, and basically there were 6 characters, and it took 90 to 120 hours to get one to max level for their one achievement, and the last one was to get all 6 characters to max level, and it was like a 5 point achievement, but the final one in the game.

Hell no to that kind of grind. I'll 100% an EDF game, that's my limit.

Uber Hardcore mode on Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams.

"If They Came To Hear Me Beg" from Halo Reach always alluded me. It was a Campaign cheevo that required you to fall from a really tall point and assassinate an Elite MID FALL, like before you hit the ground and die.

It's not impossible and I'm sure there's some users in this topic that have done it. I just never had enough patience.

Back when Halo 3 came out I had 1,000 achievement score and was pretty proud of it. Then Bungie released more achievements that were all multiplayer based and I gave up lol.

More than a few like that where even at launch they do nothing about hackers giving themselves 999999999 kills and headshots so you can't even get the top rank unless you also hack.

There was also some multiplayer shooter I forget the name of, that had an achievement for blowing up yourself, your teammate, and the enemy at the same time.

But the problem was, EVERYONE was trying to get that achievement and it basically just destroyed the multiplayer scene of the game because no one was playing the game as intended. They were just running into people to blow themselves up instead lol

Back on the 360 with one of the WWE games had online achievements that I wouldnt touch either because the online base was filled with hackers lol.

I wont attempt any fighting game with online trophies or achievements too.

This one is so bs and only really possible under two circumstances

One is intentionally set it up in a match with a friend

Or two, somehow do something like

1. Make the weapon
2. Have it fire on a planet
3. While it's starting the year long firing process, do the ridiculous steps necessary to splinter off from your own empire into a fragment one
4. Do the rest to get the requirement fulfilled

There's some ridiculous ones in Crypt of the Necrodancer, such as as beating the game with every character in a row without dying. I'll probably never get that one but I have gotten the one for beating the game with Aria, one of the hardest characters.
