This show made me never want to watch another series until it was over.

Bad; Extremely disappointing

I barely even remember it and I basically lost all interest in LOST after that.

It was great. I cried quite a bit.

torn between 1 and 2. it's like a 2.5 to 3.5/10.

the flash-sideways was enjoyable to watch at first, but when the mystery behind it was revealed, it felt... a lot weaker. i like the concept of it more in hindsight, but some of the stuff that actually went down didn't really make sense from a character perspective/kinda sucked. for all the "it's about the characters" stuff, a lot of those beats missed.

and the actual finale was really bad.

that said, there were lots of really cool episodes throughout the season (intermingled with some awful ones), as is pretty much always the case. so i went with a 2 in the end.

Not sure if I should vote 2 or 3. I loved the actual finale, but S6 as a whole was definitely the weakest one.

I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty disappointed. The most egregious crimes it committed (not nearly all of them):

-The "flash sideways" was interesting until the finale when it was established that it was not an actual alternate timeline of events (though to be fair, at least it stuck with the series' own rules of time travel which is all I ever ask for)
-Sayid being killed off like a damn side character
-"Evil Claire" going absolutely nowhere (in general Claire was a total waste of a character after Charlie died)
-Ilana being added to the main cast only to be a complete waste of space
-Frank getting about a total of like 3 minutes of cumulative screen time (funny enough this was the only season where Jeff Fahey was credited as a main cast member, go figure)
-Ben getting to live AND getting at least a glimmer of what he wanted after all the terrible things he did with little remorse

I appreciate the topic title very much! There's a definite distinction between Season 6 & series finale. The final episode is pretty solid; it's the entire season leading up which sucks balls.

I was liking season 6 until the finale recursively demolished the flash-sideways arc

I liked the last episode quite a bit, except I did not like the last 15 minutes of the last episode. It was a decent closing season.

I dont know if anyone else on this Board has watched Six Feet Under, but that show has one of my favorite endings ever. If I can nom that show Id like to. Not sure if it would reel in many votes.

Sure, always happy to accept new noms, I've added it to the list. Personally I watched the first two seasons of 6FU a lifetime ago and enjoyed it quite a bit, but got distracted and never came back to it.

I went with a 1 but almost gave it a 2, would have been 2/5 on a five point scale. Its bad but not the worst.

Really! Interesting. I look back on Season 6 with... much trepidation. Sun, Sayid, and Claire continue to have inconsistent and terribly written characters; the Lighthouse and the names & numbers on the cave wall are just unbelievably bad with preordained predestiny; everything with Ilana's team and Ilana herself is NikkiPaulo levels of 'why?'; Charles Widmore, a major antagonist since Season 2 and Ben's rival for control, is done away with little fanfare; all the Temple stuff and "don't let him speak to you" means nothing and has no bearing on anything except to make Sayid temporarily evil and give us a big smokey death scene (though didn't Alpert say smokey was stuck in Locke form now? Nothing is consistent). And we continue to get teased and teased for answers and questions just because that's how the wheels spin on this show even though it's been three years since you had an enddate.

The Flash-Sideways are rather good and fun even though they tease some relevancy to the current happenings, and Desmond teases back, and it's... gah, it's maddening. There's such a purposelessness to the season.

The ending definitely has terrible moments (what Kate does), but I enjoyed it well enough as its own thing with lots of great moments (James and Juliet especially). The season leading up is just such an intolerable mess. Jack had a good season, Hurley did too (though fuck the guitar case), and flash-sideways Charlie, but it wasn't good.

Aside from the TV Board comics.
