Do you think the US Military will be hurtin if these 30,000 grunts are let go?

The United States Marine Corp has discharged 103 active service members so far for refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine as military services are beginning to give the boot and up to 30,000 active service members have refused to get the shot and are on their way out the door too!!

The news comes just as Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered mandatory vaccines for all US military personnel

95% of the marine corp or 182,500 have got the vaccine which is the lowest percentage among the military services

It's unclear why 103 of them were ousted with 9000 more who have not been vaccinated and are holding their rank

They approved 1007 medical and administrative exemptions and are processing 2863 of the 3144 requests for religious exemption and while the number of active duty personnel in each service is 95% innoculated, 30,000 are still not

Navy officials have cut the cord on 5731 sailors or 2% of its branch who remain unvaccinated

The army announced to axe 3800 of the unvaccinated soldiers beginning in January and already ousted 27

The Navy, which is the highest vaccinated rate of all military branches with 336,000 sailors 99% vaccinated

Admiral James Waters said if a sailor gets their shot they will honour that and make every effort to retain them but on the other hand those who refuse will be required to leave

The Air force already discharged 27 airmen for refusing to obey a lawful order as none of them sought any type of exemption

Students at the US Military Academy at West Point who refuse the vaccine will also not be commissioned as officers.

Members of the US Military are already required to get as many as SEVENTEEN vaccines depending on where they are deployed but many do not believe in the covid vaccine believing they are SILENT KILLERS as noted by the right-wing media

Do you think the US Military will be hurtin if 30,000 of these grunts are let go?

they've already said that they aren't going religious exemptions.

the reason is that, if their religion somehow prevents them from getting a vaccine, they would never have even gotten past going to boot camp. service people are required to get over 30 vaccinations after enlisting. since their religion was very much okay with those, then that's that. it doesn't exempt you from getting more, since you already had those.

Apparently, the Air Force is letting a ton of them get exemptions... I've seen a bunch at my base getting them. How? I don't know. But they've been getting them...

And all of them have a right to sue since it's completely unconstitutional and illegal to force anyone.

Yup. I got all sorts of vaccines when I entered training and we would get all sorts of vaccines when we deploy, too.

No valid reason for the average military member not to get vaccinated

This remains just as false and inapplicable as it was the first time you posted it. I don't know what you're expecting to change by saying variations of the same point over and over again.

Actually, some religious people do get out of doing this... At least, to a degree...

Nope. They actually don't. First of all, they aren't forced. Maybe you have trouble comprehending, but they have a choice. They can choose whether they want to get it or not. But if they choose not to, their contract ends. Which is completely fair. Since that's what they signed. They also can't sue in most cases (including this one) based on the contract they signed... There are exceptions. But I don't remember crying over vaccines being one of the exceptions where suing is allowed...

Better to be rid of these malingerers now than have them refuse an order in combat and get others killed. None of them have any right to refuse this vaccine over all the others required by signing up for the service. The faster the QAnon/conspiracy nuts are weeded out of the armed services the better off we all are.

Many of their family members are ok with their choice. And actually support them. Which is actually kind of weird in some cases...

From some of the posts I'm reading, it appears that some people don't understand what's going on here. When you join the military (any branch), for the time stated in that contract, your body belongs to the US government. I've known service members that were fired for getting a bad sunburn because they got drunk and passed out (no kidding); so why would they make an exception for someone who won't follow a direct order to get vaccinated? The military doesn't fall under the Constitution: they follow the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) which is a different set of rules altogether.

That seems a little far, and that's coming from someone currently in the military... Probably because I know quite a few people who got bad sunburns on a TDY in the past couple of years... Can't say it's untrue, but does seem farfetched.

I do agree with the rest of the post, though...
