I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

Drizz't deserves his own Baldur's Gate 2 style game. Not just a cameo, not some pay to win mobile game. Not just a beat em up, but something similar to Baldur's Gate 2 where the focus first and foremost is the story, and he gets a lot of dialogue. It's a shame that he's never gotten what he deserves.

It looks like absolute garbage but atleast it's on Gamepass so I can try it out.

I find it kinda strange how WotC is only now cashing in on D&D videos games, with BG3, this and some other stuff.

Besides mobile games it doesn't really seem like it, last decently large title to come out was the Neverwinter mmo in 2013, everything else has been remasters and aforementioned mobile stuff. It's only now they're trying their hand at larger scale titles with proper marketing.

Looking over the review scores of it now, seems like it got 7/10-ish, so maybe I just sucked at video games back then, I dunno

I started a Neverwinter character a few days ago and I actually love the game so far.
The same devs are working on a Magic The Gathering MMO. I am not familiar with the franchise at all but I'll probably check it out given my experience with Neverwinter

Honestly at the price point of $40 and it coming to gamepass this game might do ok if the gameplay is actually fun and they release regular content and new character updates, unlike Marvels Avengers

Basically, it fails at a magic product because they can't... use the art in the card game. A lot of the magic sense memory is being able to look at card art, tell instantly what it is, and, likely what it does. There's none of that and likely never will be because of licensing reasons.

There's still the various planes, but, they don't super look that good, and, honestly, people are interested in the social aspects of the planes. Not really how they look, it matters more how various groups feel.

So, with no art, you're left with an ARPG where you can't actually pick the spells you want to cast directly. So you're bouncing between multiple places on the screen, trying to figure out what the hell you're even doing or what your plan is, with cards that don't make sense for what magic does, in a pretty bland setting.

In theory it could be better, but, it just sucks.

Oh yeah, there's honest to god, the most beautiful art I've ever seen in magic cards. There's nothing like it.
So, it out entirely ruins the interesting element of "what if magic, but for arpg" because, like, your lightning bolt spell suddenly doesn't look like any of the lightning bolt cards.

Yeah the new Magic AARPG was so bad I had it for free and barely played it. I gave Earth/green a try cause...wolves....but yeah it just isn't fun at all, no real sense of progression, and the combat as boring as balls.

Was not impressed, would not play it for free.

I watched about an hour.
Okay, what I get from this is that it's really poorly made and ideas that were good but executed poorly.
I guess if I want this type of game gotta go with Path of Exile instead.
Well, hopefully the devs learn from this and focus more on Neverwinter and Star Trek Online instead. Both those games seem to have strong communities.
