Of course I can take the seasoning packet after I am done and put it on and mix it into the noodles. but if I add stuff to the water while cooking that flavor stays in the water and never goes into the noodles. I prefer to drain most of the water from the noodles before I eat, so leaving some water in doesnt help much.

Is this an unreasonable request?

Depends on the ramen. If it's the Korean ones, all you gotta do is add the packet into soup while it's boiling(noodles first, then on top). If it's the cheapass Maruchan/Nissin Top, then I don't think the powder and the noodles are good enough quality for what you want to work.

Boil the noodles, strain, then take a needle and make a dozen or so indentations in each soft, cooked noodle, then throw those noodles into the boiling broth for a couple minutes

A. Put Seasoning in Noodles
B. Add A 'Just Amount' of Water (don't overfill it)
C. Let it Seep/Marinated for like an Hour
D. Cook
E. Enjoy

But the Problem is, most aren't willing to wait that long to eat something that's supposed to be an 'Instant Snack'

The less water the thicker the flavour if these are anything like Super Noodles.

Boil water, just enough to cover the height of the ramen. (The smaller the pot the better)

Once boiling put in flavor packet and any other extra spices you want.

Turn off burner.

Let the noodles sit in the hot broth.

????

Profit

(I do this because I do not like lots of broth in my ramen, I pour out most of the broth and just stir up the noodles in what little broth is left on the bottom. Also the extra spices can help a lot, crushed red pepper, black pepper, minced garlic, etc.)

Bruh. This is how I do ramen. Make it like you would boxed mac in cheese. Boil the noodles, strain completely, Put them back into the pot and mix in some butter, some milk, and your flavor packets.

Creme de la ramen

Next time I make the creamy chicken ramen I will do that. Sounds good.

You "no broth" degenerates disgust me.

1. Boil ramen until half done
2. Pour off water until there's just enough in the pot you want in your bowl
3. Add seasoning (and butter if you want to make the broth more rich)
4. Finish cooking until almost done
5. Pour everything into a bowl and eat...with broth

I actually had this issue in college, because I'm not a huge fan of soup. So I made ramen, poured off the broth, and tried to just eat the noodles (which were bland, because they don't really absorb the flavor).

So the next time I made ramen, I boiled the noodles first, then strained off all the water, and added the flavor packet directly to the noodles (so it was less of a soup, and more like Kraft Mac & Cheese). The end result being that the taste was a bit too strong and waaay too salty (because the amount and strength is made to be properly balanced with a specific amount of water).

So the next time I made it, I did the same thing, only I used half the flavor packet. It was much better.

Basically, you may have to experiment with dosage to come up with proportions that work for your personal taste, but once you figure it out you should be able to have fairly consistent ramen.

Cook it with broth instead of water, add the packets after the noodles soften stir and let sit. You can add other things. Soy, teriyaki, cheese, seasonings.

add an egg

So how does this work exactly? Do you guys just break open an egg to boiling water the same time as the noodles, or do you like hard boil it first or something?

I think heat seeps into the noodles a bit so I boil them with a minimum of black pepper and usually a dash of cayenne. They're still not like flavorful on their own but they are at least a little spicy.

Either cook the instant noodles in less water with the flavor packet, or if you want to get crazy, cook the noodles separately, then whisk the favor packet in a separate heated pan with melted butter or some kind of oil, and turn the flavor packet into a sauce you drizzle over the drained noodles.

Given, how well the flavor packet will dissolve in the butter/oil I don't know. This is just something you can try.

Youre supposed to only use enough water to cook the noodles, so... if you cook them like that then definitely only use the amount of water the packet tells you to. I either crush up the bag and microwave it in a bowl, then add frozen peas and corn to cook it down and add food, or boil the noodles, strain the water and add the powder to the noodles after.

C was right.
