Thats fine, Sanders hasnt been doing anything big at the moment. Warren has been killing it with policy and Biden is enjoying a boost from formally entering the race. Cant wait to see the debates and what kind of ideas come out of it.

Sure, but people often "forget" about taxes. Like the polls about support for Medicare For All that showed 80% support but dropped to 40% when people were told it would require an increase in their taxes.

What do you base this on? He's up on Trump head2head, young people would come out in record numbers for him, it's not like the elderly dem that just votes their party no matter what is going to stay home, he even has strong appeal in places like Michigan and factory workers to boot. Ignoring data to go with a stale centrist type because that feels like the safe thing is how we got Trump in the first place.

Turns out people do not want to pay for things or want their taxes to go up, which is why Democrats will lose to Trum pagain they have absolutely nothing normal people will care about, as far as they're concerned he's

Getting rid of the illegals
Standing up for us against China and Russia
Getting rid of programs that allow the leeches of society to thrive on their dime
Giving corporations more freedom which to them means more money in their checks
Pissing off the party that calls you sexist, racist and bigot at the drop of a hat
Not trying to take away guns thinking that solves an in their mind, over blown problem the news makes up for views
Getting them far better insurance than anything Obama did that nearly backrupted them
Killed Isis dead, something Obama caused to thrive
Stopping liberals from killing babies because they're too lazy and selfish to care for it
Fighting back against a news media that's fed the flames of unjust anger and hatred

The fact of hte matter is, people don't change their minds and so far Trump has done nothing really damaging to change his supporter's opinions of them and even if he has they still view him more favorable than any democrat Especially a corporate democrat like Biden or a progressive dem like Sanders.

There are even people who hate Trump but thanks to him the religious right have more power than they've ever dreamed of and at this point they stand to gain a supreme court and justice system that will protect and empower them for nearly 50 years and rich people smarter than Trump are supporting him because their taxes get reduced, their corporations stand to not only gain government money without actually having abide to the government but also rake in even more profits than before, it's almost a tidal wave of money for supporting Trump, can't get that with any Dem even corporate friendly Obama couldn't get them nearly as much cash as Trump has

Tell me right now how Dems are expected to fight someone billed as the god emperor un ironically when so many people stand to gain from his reign and Democrats are constantly fractured and the people who stand to gain from having them in charge are low in number and even more divided in their support?

Dems only have the argument that Trump's actions could hurt us in the future, which is a stupid argumen because America as a whole does not give a fuck about the future, we're a reactionary country rather than a proactive one.we either face up a problem we can't ignore anymore or we ignore it and keep ignoring it til it's impossible to ignore anymore or we die before the problem gets too big to ignore and that's the gameplan for most people.

he's way too far to the left. he'll scare away moderates, who are the folks who actually decide elections. liberals/democrats are most likely going to vote D no matter who it is.

i dont remember the details behind Gore's loss very well, but Hilary lost because she overestimated the urban vote (by thinking she would match Obama's numbers) and underestimated the rural vote (because people voted in record turnout) in three states. PA, MI and WI decided the election.

edit: i am simplifying this and omitting a lot of factors, but IMO those are the two most significant reasons why she lost

They took the blackpill and realize Bernie doesn't have a chance against the corrupt monolith that is the DNC and whoever they decide between Biden or Harris to prop up.

Everyone says they will vote to get Trump out but I actually believe voter percentage will be lower than in 2016.

It isnt surprising.

Think of politics as a gas station. They have Budweiser, bud light, miller light, natural light. Then one day they also get in a hip local craft beer. A bunch of people start buying it. It sells pretty well, but not as good as the generic shit beer. Then the gas station gets in half a dozen other craft beers. Suddenly, that first local brew isnt selling nearly as well.

Thats whats going on here.

Yeah I did, it doesn't matter if it's happening or not all that matters is that it looks like it's happening like all of that wall shit in fact, the shit with China fucking the farmers are showing no signs of stopping and yet just because Trump is trying to get them another bailout, one that will somehow come either too late or not at all they'll still vote for him because he's making it look like he's fighting for them

it only suggests that a lot of people who voted for Obama didn't vote for Hilary. whether or not those folks identify as "liberal" or "democrat", I don't know.

edit: here's a decent breakdown from WaPo

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/politics/wp/2018/03/12/ 4-4-million-2012-obama-voters-stayed-home-in- 2016-more-than-a-third-of-them-black/

edit 2: that article seems to focus exclusively on race and ignores party affiliation. shrug. i still suspect that a strong majority of registered Democrat voters vote Democrat regardless of who the candidate is.
