It's going to be exceedingly difficult to review it without spoilers so I'll leave it at this: I predict much butthurt over the final act.

The fighting sequences were great and they cut down on the whole snarky banter in serious situations to match the heavy mood of this installment, but nothing could've prepared me for that ending. Well aside from reading comics maybe, but where's the fun in that?

It's goddamn 3 am goodnight y'all.

Why would be people be butthurt over the final act? Because it's bad or "not true to the comics" or another reason? (You don't have to go into too much detail in case of spoilers, I was just curious if you meant quality-wise).

Comic fans, I assume would love the ending.

It ends on a cliffhanger. Which for some is good, for others, they don't want to wait a year for the conclusion.

The first BttF wasn't really meant as a cliffhanger, it was meant as an end gag. They only decided to go from it after the movie was successful. That's why they had to bring the girl to the future (they didn't want to, but she was in the ending they thought they'd never have to touch again) and immediately did everything they could to minimize her part.

Bwaha.... no.

Still a solid 9 out of 10.

And I meant moreso casual audiences that only watch the movies and don't know what to expect are gonna be the butthurt ones, not avid comic readers.

By the way heads up there's only one after credits sequence and it's all the way at the end. Guess Thanos killed the mid-credit scene too.

Our theater cheered triumphantly when Storm Breaker Thor came to Wakanda. Dear god that was insanity.

About Starlord, Do you think Thanos knew he could control him via his daughter? Which is why he let him live? Because ultimately he used his love of his daughter to use Starlord to free himself. After he saw how hard it was for him to pull the trigger, I figured he saw a weakness to exploit later on. Which he absolutely did.

That was fantastic.

Everything down to the credits was dialed in just right. The ending title just fading away after the credits and then "Thanos will return" was so good.

Loved how damn near everyone got a moment and no one really felt overshadowed.

Random thoughts

The entirety of the fight on Titan was amazing. Tony and Strange have both levelled up massivelly. Thanos hurling a mini black hole at Strange is one of the low key moments in that fight, it's nuts.

Also props to Mantis for managing to keep Thanos with most of the stones sedated.

Spidey felt he was gonna go before it actually started on him because his spider sense was freaking out and that's really unsettling to think about ughhhhh.

Stormbreaker Thor seems pretty buffed even from where he was in Ragnarok.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Loki isn't dead. He had more than enough time between "We have a Hulk" and reappearing to set up an illusion as he's done prior. But then again where would he go?

RIP all of Asgard, Valkyrie, Korg, Miek, unless the half thing applied there and some escaped off screen

Poor Wanda and Vision

Sucks to be Red Skull

Queen Shuri time?

Falcon's disappearance was the second worst next to Spidey's

The theme of the movie seemed to be Sacrifice, and what people were willing to do to achieve their goals.

Star-Lord wasn't willing to sacrifice Gamora (until it was too late), Gamora wasn't willing to sacrifice Nebula, Scarlet Witch wasn't willing to sacrifice Vision (until it was too late), Cap wasn't willing to sacrifice ANYTHING. Even Loki wasn't willing to sacrifice Thor at the beginning. Any one of them could have made the sacrifice and stopped him from gaining or learning where the stones were.

Only Thanos was willing to make the sacrifice to get what he wanted by killing Gamora. Except for Dr. Strange, who sacrificed the Time Stone to save Stark. He made it very clear he didn't care about anything but protecting the stone. I assume that whatever future he saw where they were successful, Stark was alive. So he knew the only chance they had was to make sure Stark was alive, even if it meant sacrificing the stone.

There is a bit of jaded annoyance, sadly.

Obviously the characters just straight up slaughtered by Thanos are gone, but its very obvious that all of the "poofed" characters are gonna come back. They have announced movies for the most part, for one. It's a side effect of these huge announcement plans, and knowing that, like....of course Spiderman isn't gone, do you think we're idiots?

Still a great watch.

Maybe this is my issue? Like, the ending didn't make a huge impact on me because I completely expected it, having knowledge of the comics. And obviously all the biggest players will be back. I still think they're going to do some rebooting by the end, after the heroes pull out their deux ex and win.

There were some stuff that I didn't like, but they aren't that big enough for them to matter much.

The Hulk not coming out "just because". Fuck that, I wanted to see Hulk Smash the enemies. "It" just screaming "no!" was stupid. What happened to Bruce always being mad?

And also, Gamora's final moment and death. Yes, she was a sacrifice. But I expected more from her death scene. I don't have comic knowledge, but no way Gamora isn't in the next GotG movie. So I expect her to come back.
