I like tropical settings, so it's automatically got a few points there. I forgot how blocky GCN graphics are, it's been so long. I remember them looking better.

Is there a way to center the camera behind yourself and stay in position while you look around besides actively using FLUDD?

Yeah I remember the game looking a lot better than when I take a look at it now. I'm still waiting on an HD Remake or Remaster. The game is basically ancient at this point.

Quite a lot actually, pretty sure in order to unlock the final level/boss you need to get the seventh shine in every world.

Well actually it comes out to a lot less than SM64.

SM64 demands a hard number:70

SMS just wants seven shines in each level and doesn't care for bonus shines, so the minimum is actually closer to 50, but you'll probably have a lot more if you've been getting "optional" shines. Like you can probably have 90 shines and still not be able to access it if you've been skimping on "main" shines.

Well alright. I already have like 19 or something, so whatever. Is there any reason to get all of the shines?

By the way, I remember people talking about the sand bird like it was some legendarily difficult thing. I beat it in three tries, and I sabotaged one of those tries on purpose because I wanted to get some blue coins.

I was pretty sure you could beat Sunshine with fewer than you needed to beat Mario 64. Maybe I'm thinking of Galaxy.

Lily Pad Ride is BY FAR the worst level

I don't remember the sand bird being that hard.

The lily pad and the pachinko machine can go fuck off though.

I don't remember how Yoshi works in that game. I think you need to find him in Delfino Plaza first though?

We all sure don't remember much it seems.

I do recall that you need to find the corresponding fruit in order to hatch Yoshi. You just find his egg lying around somewhere.

You unlock Yoshi in one of the hotel levels. Shadow Mario will appear with his egg in Delfino Plaza afterwards.

Mario & Luigi's parents got them from some storks. Maybe Peach figured you could have a kid without copulation? Or maybe that's how everyone does it.

Outside of Super Princess Peach, has she ever shown emotion in any Mario game ever? Even in Odyssey, her voice registers fear or happiness, but her face sure doesn't.

I've finished four areas up to the seventh star. I'll begin Noki Bay later. It looks like it'll be unpleasant, I hate water levels.

I only recall one shine there being frustrating and even then, it's probably the coolest shine in the whole game.

I just figured Peach had too much plastic surgery done on her face which is why she always has the exact same expression.

Just looked it up. I have only three more areas worth of levels to go. The game feels short even though at times I hate it. There was this one FLUDDless level with a million flying blocks that took me absolutely forever to beat.

I'm going to get Odyssey in like a month, and I fully expect it to feel a million times superior to this.

Got frustrated and gave up on a Noki Bay fluddless level.

Its easy to remember why I gave up on this game as a teenager.

Most of the FLUDD-less levels are great. If you hate these, wait for the Pianta Village one.
