I've never watched an episode of any TV series, and the only movie I've seen is the first Michael Bay one. All I know is that Leonardo leads, Raphael is cool but rude, Donatello does machines, and Michelangelo is a party dude. Based on that, Donatello sounds like the best.

I believe I liked the Ninja Turtles as a kid but I don't really recall any specifics about them. Most of my knowledge is from playing Turtles in Time long after the fact.

after making this topic i realized i did not care as much as i thought about the ninja turtles. i tricked myself into believing they were old favorites because that seemed like the consensus but actually thinking about it i realized i didn't really care. which makes sense because all the exposure i had to them amounted to one movie, a couple episodes of a show and a bunch of dirty pictures with april o'neil. none of which were particularly memorable.

I think that's generally the case. In the 2012 tv series Splinter said Mikey had the most raw talent of the team and he's actually shown to be pretty competent at times. Of course he's still the dumb one and loves sitting around eating pizza and watching knockoff Chuck Norris and He-Man cartoons

Mikey easy for me. Orange is one of my favorite colors, Nunchucks were the coolest weapon, and he's the funniest. Landslide victory imo

In high level play Raph is indisputably the best turtle (and assuming you don't count the bosses since they're hilariously overpowered, the best character in the game)

Definitely believe Raph is the best Turtle there though. He seemed the most mobile of them by far. Would guess it's Raph >> Mikey > Leo >>> Don with Don probably being D Tier with the likes of Chrome Dome and borderline unusable.
