More genies.

No sleep is best; you're getting up to 50% extra time to either be productive or goof off as you wish.

Sounds familiar...

At any rate, sleep is arguably the biggest inconvenience since it occupies nearly a third of our lives. Plus drowsy driving is more dangerous than drunk driving (allegedly). Really between that and thirst/peeing (especially since a person can only last like 3-4 days without hydration) although... not eating is certainly useful.

Granted, the one downside to not sleeping is that everybody else still requires sleep and there's a social element to sleep. Plus it acts as a reasonably decent divider between days.

I greatly value solitude, so that's not a negative.

Considering you spend a good chunk of your life asleep you can get a lot more things done if you could be awake 24/7.

Hygiene is manageable as long as you're not a neanderthal while hunger and thirst are both pleasures as well as penalties in the odd case you can't address them.

I see no sleep is winning by a landslide. Sleep is free, imagine all the money you would save not having to eat, or drink! Also imagine how good you would feel if you were always clean. Just a thought.

Eating and drinking are so much fun though. You'd get a lot more time to do stuff without sleep. Also I might be able to always be clean but my clothes can still smell like shit.

Not having to eat would save a ton of money.

Not having to sleep would save a ton of time. However, I suspect one would start to go insane having that much extra time in a day. The world is wired to sleep. You'd be spending 10 or so hours of your day virtually alone. Sleep is also a very useful 'barrier' between each day. I feel like I would always feel like I'm on the downward slide to having to go back to work again. Also imagine being sick like having the flu. I know when I get sick, I pray that I can sleep as much as possible so the pain will go away more quickly. Every moment when your sick seems like an eternity. Sleep alleviates that.

I'm going with the need to eat. There are far too many health benefits to not having to eat and you save a lot of money. However I am assuming that you have the option to eat if you were to want to.

If a person lives to be 85 & sleeps 8 hours a night he would be awake for 496400 hours that's 20683 days.

If the same person that lived 85 years didn't sleep at all, he would accumulate 744600 hours that's 31025 days, over the course of his life, not sleeping would essential add roughly 27 years to his life!

LOL, I've actually tried living without sleep, it never ends well. The longest I've managed is about 30 hours straight, I don't really recommend it though, very unhealthy & not really worth it.

@minervo dream world VS 27 to 35 years worth of gaming? As much as I love dreams, adding roughly 33 years worth of free time to my life is just too good to pass up mate.

I think the sleepy one is even better than everyone thinks.

you get sleepy because you need rest, and you need rest because you're physically and/or mentally fatigued. so "you don't need to sleep" implies that you can't get physically or mentally fatigued.

(if not, then this choice is worse than everyone thinks, because that means you can be mentally and physically exhausted but not get sleepy; that would suck).

I stayed up all night and I was just told a few minutes ago to keep an eye out for a package delivered for me

There's not time so I most likely have to keep an eye out all DAY.

Fuck sleep!

My sleeping pattern is horrendous, I don't sleep well at nights, I am constantly tired and the only thing that wakes me up in the morning is my PINT of Coffee.

So to do away with the constant tiredness would be amazing.
