Once injected, you become immortal and immune to all disease. If you had cancer, it goes away and all the damage to your body is repaired. If you are paraplegic, you can move like an Olympian. If you lost an arm, it grows back.

Catastrophic population growth, depletion of natural resources, overcrowding, massive pollution/climate change. We still need space, and without people becoming worm food, our already dwindling livable areas would fill up faster. Yay, I live forever, but I can't get where I'm going for all the people or have to live in Antarctica to get some breathing room. And natural resources doesn't just mean food. Paper, metals, lumber, oil for plastics, all stuff made from limited materials that would now have to meet an infinity growing demand. That of course implies what we'd give up food because we don't need it. In reality, most of us like to eat for enjoyment. Pollution may not kill you, but it still fucks with comfort levels. --- ... Most of you guys aren't taking into account how immortality would immediately change our priorities as a species.
Health care is no longer a concern? No more wasting any money on health care. That money could be funneled elsewhere. Nobody can die? Military is now useless. That money and all those resources could be funneled elsewhere. No worries about lifespan or safety? Expect a huge surge in the desire for extra-solar exploration and colonization. Probably funded by the aforementioned now-useless military budget. Overpopulation would be a concern, sure, but it's not an instant death-sentence for humanity like most of you are assuming. And there likely would be a drop in birth rates due to people thinking "I've got millenia to live, so there's no rush." --- PSN ID: Aristoph http://www.youtube.com/user/SotCRules ... Actually, in this case, it seems acceptable to overcharge for it. Assuming it'd be billed like any other medical treatment, you'd literally have infinite time to pay it off afterwards. I don't see a problem with that.
If you're charged full price before its administered though, yeah, that's unethical Imo, and bad business since you'd make more money from billing them after rather than selling to the few who can afford it now. --- What did the pirate say on his 80th birthday? Aye Matey! ... Copied to Clipboard!

You'd endlessly suffocate in space if you don't drift onto a planet with oxygen. Even if you didn't need oxygen, you'd drift in the cold vacuum of space, alone unless you find a planet that has life.
