So without going into too many spoilers, Larian hits the fucking nail on the head with pretty much every single companion character I've seen so far. Each one has tremendous depth and personality. Astarion is probably the one most people are known for because he's the poster child for "Sardonic little shit who's actually got a huge heart but it's buried under literal centuries of trauma." He has an extremely compelling story. Not even to mention Niel Newborn plays him to absolute perfection. Probably in the top 10 voice acted performances of all time. You can tell how much he loves the character and voicing him, which makes the role that much more special.
