The First Turnabout (1-1) - 4.9 (25 votes)
Turnabout Big Top (2-3) - 3.7 (25 votes)
The Lost Turnabout (2-1) - 3.3 (27 votes)

We get our first tie. 3-1, even for being a tutorial, does really well. People generally praised Mia, Dahlia, and Payne...but not Phoenix.

Summary:

When Kurain's famed artifact is stolen from an exhibition hall, Phoenix ends up defending the very man claiming to have taken it. But why does Ron want to be found guilty? And who is this mysterious new prosecutor, Godot?

Main Characters: Phoenix Wright, Maya Fey, Mia Fey, Pearl Fey, Dick Gumshoe, Godot, The Judge
Other Characters: Adrian Andrews, Luke Atmey, Ron DeLite, Desiree DeLite, Kane Bullard, Larry Butz

My rating: 8/10. I remember this case being somewhat divisive back in the day. I really like this case, but the small cast is a little rough. This is probably my favorite Phoenix/Maya investigation case, though. And I do love Atmey and Ron.

7, Great introduction to the main prosecutor/rival of the game in Godot, interesting scenario to start with the defendant being accused of theft only later to be later accused of the standard murder upon the realization there's more to the case than originally was, and a good culprit to take down. Is hurt slightly by some of the side characters in the case not being particularly stellar or memorable.

In contention for best non-epic case. I feel like you have to really like Ron and Atmey to rank this case highly. Fortunately for me, I do!

Hopefully no one mistakes this for actual 2-3. The Stolen Turnabout deserves better than that.

8.8/10

The defendant is great, the witnesses are great (though Larry gets a little weird), the big plot twist is great, and it might be the funniest case in the series for me.

The section of testimony where you keep pressing Ron about going to the murder scene and he keeps dropping bombshell after bombshell to the point where even the judge is just like "ok hold on a sec here man" destroys me. And then you press one last time to ask him why on earth he stuffed the body in the safe and he replies "because it wouldn't fit in a drawer" is the straw that breaks the camel's back. It's such a fun moment, and is also important, because it makes the decisive point that no one knew he was dressed as DeMasque more apparent, so you can catch Luke's final lie, which is another fantastic moment.

I think this case is underrated and kinda liked the whole circus theme and Moes jokes. Though it might be my least favorite of T&T. I liked the robbery and multiple trials thing but kinda didnt like Ron Delite and Luke Atmey as characters as much. (Yes I was kidding in that first sentence. I rated 2-3 lower.)

I dunno, it's pretty solid for all the obvious reasons, but I have issues with it. The main one is that the stakes for this case are very confusing - we're not really sure if Ron Delite (jesus christ I almost just typed Ron Desantis) is the real Mask*DeMasque or not but like... in a way that's kind of confusing and deflating rather than cool? It's difficult to get behind defending him at first because it's not even really clear if we should be, or why Phoenix is really bothering to do it. I dunno why this is a sticking point for me, and I dunno if anyone else feels this way, but I find it disruptive for making the case motivating. Also, investigation day 2 is a very overlooked slog - it's long and has a quite lengthy recap of the main metaplots so far, which if you're already up to speed are annoying to sit through. It makes sense they did this, because they NEED to make sure the player is caught up with what's going on when they do 3-5, but it still ruins the momentum a bit. There's no intrigue with the murder or the victim really - it's all about the coverup, which is sort of interesting I guess, but it makes even going to KB Security at all feel like a waste of time because so little is really learned there because the murder doesn't matter. Finally, I find it kind of boring that the interesting part - Luke Atmey's ploy to make himself look like he was stealing something in another location - mostly just comes down to him altering the timestamp.

A terrific case. The twist at the end of the first day, and Godot in general, both ruled

I feel like they knew they struck gold with Atmey. He's definitely memorable.

I agree and its one of the reasons I felt conflicted about Ron.

I read everything Para said and thought "yeah, that's a good point" but ... I just can't imagine giving this a lower rating! The stuff I like I enjoy way more than the stuff I don't.

They need to have more cases that aren't set up with murder. A fun twist for sure. Maybe I just find the set up so cool that the fact it doesn't land perfectly is forgiveable to me, I suppose.

All the new characters are amazing - especially Luke Atmey. Hilariously over the top writing, impeccable design, a great theme that imo would be the best in the game if Godot didn't exist. Ron and Desiree are absolutely adorable, even if some of the stuff with Ron doesn't land. Adrian Andrews will ALWAYS be welcomed. Larry is .... I swear he was much better in the first game, but at least he doesn't overstay his welcome.
