https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/4483403-hillary-clinton-warns-birth-control-is-next-after-alabama-ivf-ruling/

Hillary Clinton is warning about the legality of birth control in the wake of a decision by the Alabama Supreme Court that found frozen embryos created through fertility treatments are children under state law.
They came for abortion first. Now its [in vitro fertilization], and next itll be birth control, the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee and secretary of State said in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
The extreme right wont stop trying to exert government control over our most sacred personal decisions until we codify reproductive freedom as a human right, Clinton added.
Following the decision by the Alabama Supreme Court, the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) health system decided to pause in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments. The UAB health system has said it is evaluating the decision but would immediately pause the procedures.
We are saddened that this will impact our patients attempt to have a baby through IVF, but we must evaluate the potential that our patients and our physicians could be prosecuted criminally or face punitive damages for following the standard of care for IVF treatments, a health system spokesperson said.
The Yellowhammer States top court issued the ruling Friday, finding that the states Wrongful Death of a Minor Act applies to all unborn children, regardless of their location.
Even before birth, all human beings have the image of God, and their lives cannot be destroyed without effacing his glory, Chief Justice Tom Parker wrote in a concurring opinion. We believe that each human being, from the moment of conception, is made in the image of God, created by Him to reflect His likeness.
Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra decried the courts decision in a post on X, saying it will have heart-wrenching consequences for women & their families.
Ive long made clear that overturning Roe was just the beginning of the attacks on womens health, privacy, & autonomy and thats exactly what we continue to see, Becerra said.
Following the decision, GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley said she agreed that an embryo is an unborn baby but added in an interview that we need to treat these issues with the utmost respect.

She's never been more right about anything in her life.

There is no reason that birth control should not be legal. These Christo fascist, anti-American fuck faces need to be shut down hard.

Everyone: "Don't worry, Roe V Wade is Safe. Donald Trump would never end Roe V. Wade."

Later:

Everyone: "Okay, maybe they'd get rid of Roe V. wade, but they're not going to do anything about IVF."

Later:

Everyone: "Okay, maybe they are going after IVF. But Birth control is safe."

The pattern is obvious to anyone with two brain cells to put together.

My favorite was after Roe got struck down people, rightfully, got nervous about same sex marriage and even interracial marriage, with of course right wingers going "hurrr durrrr u bn paranoid chicken little sky fallin orange man bad u doomer!" Then you read the judges opinions and even some of the GOP were like, hell yeah, let's go after gay and interracial marriage next!

Yet she managed to still have more people vote for her than Trump and only lost because of our shitty way of electing people.

I'm not surprised you'd read my post so incorrectly when you consider two sentences a lot of words. She's stating the obvious here that everyone already knew. She's just trying to insert herself into the situation because she wants to feel important and relevant. She was dead wrong when it counted, which is why we're here in the first place.

That's not saying much. She lost against a borderline orangutan for goodness sakes. Which is insulting to orangutans admittedly. But she dropped the ball so hard, and we had to contend with a monster winning, who went from "lol the dude from the apprentice?" to "this man is dangerous, and has made being racist/sexist/evil a badge of honor to wear rather than something that was bubbling under the surface"

You're completely missing the point. She was supposed to protect us from this, like the old saying all it takes for evil is good men to do nothing. But instead she went with "derp I'm a teh female, a womaynz" as a campaign slogan. It's almost like she was trying to lose out of some sort of spite. No one could have okayed these decisions outside of a skit on Veep or something.

Nothing she says now matters, it barely amounts to empty platitudes.

This has been obvious for a long time, since before even Roe v Wade was overturned.

I do feel like TC kinda only posted this to trigger the people who would fly into anti-Hillary rages as we certainly did need her to tell us something that's been obvious to anybody who's been paying attention to the desires of the Christo-fascist right.

She is right, As much as the GQP will deny it she is right, After all the same people said that Roe v Wade was settled law and that the GQP would never overturn it.. then after it was overturned they said that we were all just doom posting and that they would never pass laws forcing women to give birth and that if they really wanted an abortion they would just be able to travel, Then some passed laws making that criminal, then they said that dont worry, if its still a medical emergency or rape then they could still get an abortion.. and well, we have all seen how that has gone

Here's the difference between the elections of 2016 and 2020. In 2016, a few tens of thousands of votes in critical states gave Trump a win. In 2020, a few tens of thousands of votes in critical states gave Biden the win.

So all of these arguments to the effect that Hillary Clinton was a shit-tier candidate "because she lost to Trump" are invalid -- the margins in 2016 and in 2020 were too close to support any arguments like that.

Arguments that Clinton got ratfucked and/or made campaign mistakes are fair game, of course.

They also want to go after the federal government's ability to regulate corporations from not putting thinngs like cynaide and poison into our drinking water, products and pretty much every single thing we use in our lives and Thomas most recently renounced his previous decision expanding the federal government's right to do that

We're finished as a country, what we're in is a downfall with no hope of getting out of as long as the supreme court is owned by billionaires and the judges have absolutely no rules for obvious corruption, open brazen corruption, actively taunting the citizens about how untouchable they are.

On top of that we have an entire party of foreign agents actively working to undermine the federal government yet the head of the department of justice refuses to actually do anything because it's his team, that same head was once up for being a supreme court justice.

And I'm going to restate that I think any votes in relation well to abortion and LGBTQ+ rights should have a major caveat in that those voting against need to go through a purity test/inspection and pass before their vote can be recognized.

No, not giving them a chance to win, but that just as anti-abortion and Anti-LGBTQ+ detractors don't give any leeway towards their target(s), so even the slightest misdemeanor can be used to disqualify their vote from making any impact.

And maybe so the voter and their misconducts can be publicized worldwide.

Looking it back up it seems it was a "concurring opinion", so Alito wrote the tripe and Thomas agreed with like 3 of the big ones by name.

Justice Clarence Thomas argued in a concurring opinion released on Friday that the Supreme Court should reconsider its past rulings codifying rights to contraception access, same-sex relationships and same-sex marriage.

https://www.politico.com/news/2022/06/24/thomas-constitutional-rights-00042256

That list from Alito is insane though, like, so many rights and precedents he clearly wants to throw out because he thinks the Cons doesn't grant us autonomy rights? Like, what an absolutely ridiculous argument to think the Founders escaping a King who controlled society, religion, and the person themselves would set up a government to just do the exact same thing under the guise of "Freedom".
