Whatever makes the FF7 diehards blow their tops the most is what I want to see happen.

I bought Remake on a whim after zero hype and interest because a whole bunch of people were super vocally pissed about it on day 1 and I thought that was hilarious, and I really want to feel that unique energy again lol.

It'll never be the same though since I'm already so excited for this.

The thing that would make FF7 fans angriest would probably be Cloud hooking up with Yuffie given how many comments the creators say have been complaining about FF7 shipping wars

I'm torn because Zack is my favorite character in the 7verse so more Zack (and crew like Cissnei) is great, but I'm afraid of having to listen to this new Zack and ruining my perception of him.

His voice actor isn't that bad I think the direction was just bad in crisis core. Like everything is stunted. I'm hoping better dialogue and direction will improve it

Talking to someone who's played some of Rebirth, it's still not good

I didn't mind it too much in Crisis Core, but I might also care more in Rebirth

The "What If..." categorization isn't quite right, because by and large the game still sticks to the script when it comes to major plot points (so far). I do think they really go off the rails in game 3 though.

And I'm all for a 75% completely original third game. Post Temple of the Ancients, the only iconic events from the original that I think need to be faithfully recreated in the remake are:

• the escape from Junon
• Cid's backstory (and I guess it's possible they do this in Rebirth or Rebirth DLC)
• a return to Midgar sequence

Everything else (Great Glacier, Northern Crater, Huge Materia hunt, Underwater wreckage, final dungeon) can be done in a completely new way or not at all and I'd be fine with it. In fact, if the third game doesn't have a completely different endgame I think it would be a pretty big failure in storytelling, considering how much has been set up.

I'm guessing Wutai is also in the third game considering there's not a "Wutai Region" unless they're keeping it secret

They'll probably have the Vincent backstory in the third game, too

And you need to have the Lifestream Dive in Mideel to clear up what really happened in Nibelheim

Lifestream Dive is easily the most important part of the original.

My fav parts of OG FF7:

1. Midgar
2. Golden Saucer
3. Chocobo Breeding
4. Fort Condor

The third game won't have any of these left so it'll probs be terrible I'm afraid

I'm just automatically assuming this will be different based on the increased presence/mystery of the Zack Universe/timeline. Maybe I shouldn't assume that but all signs are pointing that way.

i still think the closest comparison is the Evangelion Rebuild movies - an alternative retelling of the story that is mostly by the books - until it isn't

It's a sequel.

They'll almost certainly return to Midgar in the third game. Gold Saucer will probably still be around. Chocobos seem like a big part of the second game, so they'll probably stick around.

Fort Condor is terrible though, so thankfully you're the minority on that.

Nomura catching flak for things he didnt even do.

Thats been happening for a while for instance, a lot of the things in FF7 Remake that people to as Nomura-like are not only things he didnt do, but were things he had to be talked into doing by the team

The only thing people should be associating with Nomura is his obsession with belts

The Fort Condor mini game in the Yuffie DLC was fun

why are cloud and sephiroth the same level and sephiroth very much mortal??? they're telling us in story that sephiroth is out of cloud's league but in combat it does not feel that way. vs. level 1 cloud and level 50 sephiroth climbing mt nibel in the original.....

I assume because it's meant to be a tutorial teaching you the basics of the game, which doesn't help if Sephiroth is one shotting everything. That's the difference between Rebirth and the same sequence happening several hours into the original.

Plus, I guess they wanted you to get your money's worth out of Seph being playable.

I think that might be a case of Cloud getting his stories mixed up. Crisis Core showed that the gap between Zack and Sephiroth wasn't that big, but Cloud is probably remembering himself as a Shinra grunt powerwise but as a SOLDIER.

I guess I'm just THAT out of the loop then. In any case, as soon as like "official spoilers" start coming out I'm gone.

I dont know how I managed to avoid the plot leak, but yay me!

Im not sure what the plot leak is. The answer is to just seed fake spoilers along with the real spoilers. Then we wont be able to tell whats real without playing.

Some of the things in the leak appear to be false based on early impressions, but the worst parts of that leak are still not debunked.

Is part of the leak that you can play as Sephiroth throughout the whole game? That's all I want really

I'm sure the Cheat Engine can help with that once it's on PC.
