Yeah, even the once every 3 turn skill use from your harmony character hurt Welt/Ratio. That's the reason that theoretical team uses Pela instead of SW.

Yeah this is exactly what makes it so awkward, both of those characters are capable of supplying Ratio with 3 debuffs all on their own, so there's less benefit from Welt's, and at that point you're better off running a Harmony unit if it's a single target fight. But for aoe, Pela/DPS Welt seems pretty strong.

Finally got my 300th pull on the standard banner.

Deciding whether I want my first Gepard or an Eidolon of someone more useful. I already have E1 Bronya and E2 doesn't seem too crazy.

Well. I got to the end of the current story section, but wanted to do something else before I went to bed, since that was pretty heavy.

I decided to do the Chadwick sidequest. -_-

I've been using Gepard since launch and he's a perfectly good sustain. But if you have two limited sustains, or plan on pulling for one, he's just going to get benched because he doesn't bring anything besides shielding. So I'd say it depends on your pulling plans.

E2 Bronya seems like one of the best Es you could get though

As far as future proof characters go, Bronya and ara Es should be the main goal for Standard Banner.

Other fine characters in there, sure, but nobody who isn't going to end up falling behind.

Gepard is nice for easy clears of the side paths of Simulated Universe since the Preservation path is completely broken if he's your sustain.

True, but that's because he's really the only party shielder in the game right now. If leaks hold, Aventurine looks like he will straight up be Gepard but better.

It's also only a matter of time before we get a 4* Preservation that's around Lynx's power level. It's honestly wild we haven't gotten any yet.

Gepard isn't bad at all, just low value in the long term. Same spot Bailu is in.

Im 13 away from 300 now. Still nobody I really am all that excited to grab though so I dont mind the wait

The issue with Gepard and Bailu is that there's not necessarily a path I can think of to buff them in the future.

With Welt and Himeko, new methods of improving them as units have continued to be released as the game goes on. New team comps, new relics, new equipment. Bailu and Gepard are probably already all they're going to be. Hell, even Yanqing could potentially have a path forward for a set to come out that makes him way better than he is now.

You never know though, something could surprise us.

Maybe if there was like a relic set that enables Gepard to provide some mini SU preservation buffs. Or something like quake dmg.

Idk the issue I have with Gepard and Bailu is status ailments.

Genshin isnt even really too similar to BotW, but they sure set the bar for the type of game they are. Genshin so huge lots of places are trying to make the next open world F2P money machine.

Just started two weeks ago as my girlfriend got me in, just made it to Penacony last night. Loving it so far even if the Luofu writing was disjointed.

Man, the story in 2.0 hit me so hard, I've actually lost a bit of sleep over it the last few days. So many plot twists that have me trying to reason out what's going on behind the scenes!

i feel like i don't even understand the fundamentals of what is happening besides "there are several factions with different interests"

Wheres a good place for me to understand the mechanical intricacies? Right now I am plodding along with my team but feel like I could be doing way more

Yeah, I mean it was all setup. It was good and interesting setup, I like all the factions, but I'm not exactly on the edge of my seat because it feels like I'm just missing context for stuff that'll get explained later.

Or I guess specifically the character stuff that was supposed to hit didn't for me. I cannot exactly be too shocked with "this person isn't who they say they are" stuff when I literally just met these motherfuckers.

I'm not even trying to deduce stuff like who betrayed Firefly or who's behind unleashing Death onto the dreamscape. I've been rewatching cutscenes on YouTube to try and figure out specifically 2 things that I feel like we already have enough info to at least take a stab at:

1. What is the red text when Acheron is talking? It seems to me like whenever it happens to come out, it's like someone is feeding her believable answers. Except for the very beginning when she's asking you questions in the first dream. Maybe she absorbed Ifrit and is using him because she's bad at lying? I don't have much for this one.
2. Who (and when) has Sparkle been impersonating? You can tell from Sampo and Robin's voices when she's been them. In Robin's case, her real voice has a slightly higher pitch, and when she's Sampo, I feel like she's been hamming it up even more than he usually does, and he just generally feels.... off. I have a theory that she's also the Aventurine that has the agreement with Black Swan to bring the main character to them and then shows them Robin's room. He emphasizes his flamboyance even more than usual in that conversation, and says the phrase "my friend" like a dozen times in 3 minutes.

The red text is different for different players, each one can be randomized.

...... oh. Well that ruins everything.

I think it adds tons of intruige into the actual cause of it!

Like I finished leveling Lynx cus hey, cleanse and Bailu doesn't have one. Only to hate the whole aggro mechanic she has with Destruction characters and whatnot. And then Bailu tanked Sam and the Death meme like a champ anyway that I don't wanna bother with Lynx anymore.

I have too many level up books. At least I finally got Black Swan yesterday so I can use some of them on her.

Blade and Clara both like the aggro boost from Lynx but I don't have either, so I just left her at 50 while I leveled up other characters. Like Bailu

I'm really hoping they put out a 5* Aggro Buffer at some point. I really like the mechanic, just don't like using the units that actually have it.

i hit the 1500 cap with basically no 4*s and this feels daunting

Yes and no. Every character has stats they want to focus on and sets that help them accomplish this e.g. you're unlikely to ever want a Glamoth planar with Def% main stat because the characters who typically use that set are DPS focused, but the meta tends to change periodically and throw your preconceptions out the window. This game's endgame is littered with tales of players scrapping relics they thought were garbage and then it turns out a new character is released who works in what would previously been regarded as an unorthodox way, and guess what, that relic you tossed out actually would have been great on them.

1. Double crit pieces, never trash, regardless of main stat.
2. Energy ropes, never trash.
3. After that, DEF pieces on Elemental% sets i always trash. If a DEF dps ever comes out, well I already saved the double crit ones from the first point.

Would consider 2 things.

One: New characters are showing that you can never be sure what substats you want, but it's worth considering that HP, defense, and Attack are all very common and easy to roll substats, so pieces excellening in those won't be rare.

Two: Elemental pieces are already out of date as the BiS for most characters. If any elemental piece isn't good for a character that already exists now, it's probably not going to matter for anyone later either. Exception to this is Quantum, which is evergreen.

I generally trash stuff that has lots of flat (as opposed to %) HP/ATK/DEF substats. Idk if this is a good idea or not

sounds like the thing to do is just go set by set, piece by piece, mainstat by mainstat, and keep your best X copies of that piece, depending on how relevant it already is (or is likely to be)

*glances nervously at my 30 (probably all bad) Salsotto ropes I've been too lazy to do anything about*

I'm at the point where I'm trashing everything that doesn't have two of SPD/crit/ATK for DPS, or SPD with an important stat for supports, pretty much all non-SPD boots unless I'm farming for specific characters, most ropes. But yeah keeping double crit or SPD+crit of weird things like I got a double crit break effect rope that maybe I can use one day.

Most planar sets are basically interchangable for DPS too (like within 1-5% DPS) so it's ok to be reasonably selective with those stats and use whatever your best ones are, instead of hoarding specific sets.

I'm getting close to the point where I'm going to start grinding relics.

Not there yet, but think I will be within the next couple weeks.

"maybe i can fit some crit on tingyun and that would make some kind of difference"

No, it's because they can release characters that scale with odd main stats. Blade scales from HP and still wants crit, so HP double crit isn't useless. Aventurine by all accounts actually does damage and scales on DEF. You can probably make some exceptions because not all sets are equally useful but double crit + off main stat on a generalist set or planar could be worth keeping.
