Their new support makes them have fangs, and a lot of the key boss monsters are UR, but you might not need 3 copies, which is great.

But if you do want to easily escape Gold, the moment you build a tiered deck, you'll probably have like a 10+ win streak on the way to Plat.

I do build a lot of rogue to casual tier decks but it's under an understanding that I might lose a lot of duels lul

I've gotten to Diamond 5 before with DM. But now I'm struggling for some reason. Maybe it's cuz I added Eye of Timaeus which is bricky and 2 Thrusts.

That was pretty funny actually. I think we have all had a game or 6 like this on ladder. People having the weirdest pile and it ends up working way above average.

Heck I fluked a win with straight up Metal Foes with staples in low diamond only having one fusion monster on field, other person bricked so hard and I accidentally gave them an extra turn. Got my fusions done for the Proficiency test in.

Ive been thinking of pulling for vanquish soul but Im not confident Ill have all the resources needed even after farming the ritual festival.

And there arent very many URs Im willing to pull for either. So if RNG isnt on my side Ill be struck with a incomplete deck I really want to play for weeks on end potentially.

I saw almost none of them in gold and platinum. But now they are just about as common as Kashtira. I am thinking about editing my deck to account for that by putting in The Eye of Truth which destroys Vanquish Souls completely

Yea, getting most of the vanquish soul cards will be hard enough. But also the non staple ones as well although I only need Riseheart, and 2 copies of TCBO1.

I was most interested in them because its a good deck with little chance of being hurt by the ban list. Im currently using Purrely and dunno how long their stay at full power. But I have 5 total sleepy memory for when the inevitable happens.

I heard Gold Pride was coming in a few weeks and I have the full punk engine so maybe ill just wait.

On top of me hating how the cards look, I think Kashtira as an archetype is just too disgusting for me to ever feel okay with playing. Between Shangri-Ira's zone locks, Arise-Heart killing GY decks by simply existing, and Unicorn being able to face-down banish important combo pieces from your extra deck, Kashtira just feels like an archetype completely built around the philosophy of "You Don't Get To Play The Game" in all of the worst possible ways. Past meta decks like Sprights and Tearlaments were technically stronger than Kashtira because they were more consistent and set up better end boards, but nothing they did ever felt truly unfair or hopeless like Kashtira does when it sets up and I don't draw the out.

I know Fenrir alone as a generic staple doesn't do any of those things, but I still refuse to touch anything with the name Kashtira out of principle.

I think I've just about distilled my own personal recipe, which I've dubbed "PUNKash Witch", to its most theoretically competitive form. As the name implies, it's a P.U.N.K./Kashtira/Witchcrafter hybrid that intends to use the P.U.N.K. mill 9 combo to facilitate Witchcrafter plays, with a splash of Kash as one does in the current meta. Is it good? I don't think so. Is it cheap? Haha, no. But is it frickin' rad? Hell yeah, motherfucker. I can share the deck if anyone wants to see it~

They really are a unique brand of monsters but I really don't understand the gameplan for this new archetype, Gandora is an obvious nuke while the swordsman and the sorceress are the main attacker and the golem and silme are defenders but the archetype is lacking in some way, has anyone been able to test the deck yet?

Lets say I summon it with Shinobird, which allows it to remain on the field.

-I attack, and the opponent cannot draw a card.
-They summon a monster and attack Yata, but I attach it with a Metalmorph or something which lets it survive and do damage to the attacking monster and destroys it.
-Next turn, I attack with Yata.

Since Yata did damage on both the opponents and my turn, does the opponent ship their next TWO draws? Or is it not stackable?

Yata wouldnt be the one doing damage on the opponents turn. Its just battle damage being reflected due to the failed attack. Its just old card wording too, if it was made today I would assume it would say direct damage is the trigger but I would try it in game to actually see to be sure. The older wordings are certainly tricky.

It also says just skip the draw phase of the next turn. So while it may be stacked the effect only goes off once as the others dont come in to play.

Rip. Was hoping it would maybe cause two skips lol. I am planning on including Yata-Garasu with Shinobird Power Spot to increase advantage. In addition, I would throw in Moon Mirror Shield which would allow Yata to beat over everything. Either Yata would stay on the field equipped with MMS, or when it bounces back to the hand I can just get MMS back. Gimmicky but in the ritual event I think it will be fun. (For me)

Im not disagreeing with how the reflected part works. That makes sense. Im just saying in this case Yata says that Yata itself has to deal the damage. Which to my current knowledge the reflected damage isnt coming from Yata the card, so I dont think it would trigger.

Not trying to argue or anything. I like figuring out rulings like this cause they can come back to really help.

Doesnt help Im a bit moody with Yugioh today. When on a 7 game losing streak and dropped from Diamond 2 to 4. People making the most ridiculous boards while I got no interruption.

Also how do you deal with Mathmech? They are becoming my damn nemesis at this point. I just got Punk Kash online to try to have something to throw into the mix when Scareclaw and Lab arent working. Im too slow to play Purrely and pure Kash is boring.

I dont even run ash anymore. They ALWAYS have called by. Stick with Imperm. If they dont have the 1 crossout then they cant stop it. But I notice they keep trying to get some mathmech spell/trap through searching and if they cant get it the combo just ends. Plus, if they do have called by, thats a total brick sitting in their hands depending on the deck you play. Called by really cant touch me so its fine if they have it

Again, I have no idea what the end board is. I never let it happen.

I'm pretty sure that I've triggered "when this card inflicts battle damage" effects on an opponent crashing their smaller monster into my bigger monster before. Not 100% sure, but pretty sure. Someone would have to go into solo mode and test it.

Ritual events been going great for me, finished the gems. Prediction princess I only managed to pull by accident absolutely clears the missions. Flip forbidden pot racks up a lot of destroyed cards for the stupid proficiency mission too. Only ran into one Mikanko which I'm very surprised at, expected to see a lot more. Blue eyes loaner deck is a constant and almost always ends with them surrendering. Only one drytron and I had a kaiju for herald thankfully.

What does the recipe archetype do exactly? It never seems to accomplish anything.

Chaos Max? Just summon the dude that flips em to defense, and they're screwed.

Liberals? Wipe em with Pot and the other dude can't run over it generally. Defense mode flipping also works here. They're fragile and shit

Uhhh Mikanko is a bit tricky, jk just flip em all to defense or return their spells during battle phase.

Too many battle focused archetypes, not enough destruction. When played right, they should be one of the strongest decks even without the floodgate flippers

Honestly not a bad idea to be running Kaijus right now. You can use 3 Gamaciels and can sometimes extend off it.

Ritual events been going great for me, finished the gems. Prediction princess I only managed to pull by accident absolutely clears the missions. Flip forbidden pot racks up a lot of destroyed cards for the stupid proficiency mission too. Only ran into one Mikanko which I'm very surprised at, expected to see a lot more. Blue eyes loaner deck is a constant and almost always ends with them surrendering. Only one drytron and I had a kaiju for herald thankfully.

What does the recipe archetype do exactly? It never seems to accomplish anything.

The recipe archetype has good resource recycling and each ritual monster has an on summon effects. The lvl 5 and below ritual monsters can tag out taking any attack monster on the field (non-targetting) for the upgrade. The lvl 6 can sacrifice an attack monster to summon the burger.

It's not likely going to FTK, but it has solid field control.

I've been enjoying the recipe ritual deck myself.

Successfully pulled off the Yata-Lock twice in the event so far. Not the traditional lock since the opponent still had cards in their hand, but it made sure that they didnt have a way back into the duel.

One duel the guy won the coin toss, went first, and then played nothing. So I just summoned Yata turn 2 and pecked for a few turns until they forfeitted.

I'm revisiting my shark deck IRL. Before I mainly used it as a r4 xyz box but seeing all the rank 5 support lately makes me think of how fun it could potentially be. Only thing is extra deck is extra right now lol

Yeah I just beat Mikanko with PriPris. Made them run into their Kaiju by Imperming, then got enough on the board to beat them into submission. Even if they got their perfect combo, and I got my perfect combo, they don't have a whole lot of option against being flipped to defense with no way out.
