Its a very basic path of the hero type story, but it left a lot to the imagination to the point where people wanted to know more about the lore and setting more than anything else. Plus - lasers everywhere. Laser swords, laser guns, laser ships, laser space stations, even that holographic board game that looked similar to chess..people like lasers. --- My resolution - the next time the Eagles are in the Superbowl, I'm going! Torgo 10/21/23 6:16:00 PM #10:	You have to take yourself out of 2023, and think about how movies were in 1978. Imagine all the crazy action and sci-fi movies of the 80s and 90s hadn't happened yet. Imagine all the CG superhero and high concept sci-fi of the 2000s isn't even doable. Then understand that so much of that stuff was inspired by, or was inspired by stuff that was inspired by Star Wars. There's a trope for this called "Seinfeld is Unfunny" where something is so hugely influential and everything after it is changed and influenced by it, that someone going back to the original thing wouldn't find it funny because they've seen all the stuff in countless properties that copied it already.
