Alright time to get a little game in

I love split party segments. Always thought it was cool as shit way back when FF6 did it.

I made the 2 teams
Kevin, Joshua, Josette, Kloe

and

Ries, Vander, Julia, Tita

I started doing Kevin's route first but I'm a bit tired for tonight and can't finish it. Gonna try and knock out both tomorrow.

Too much real life work to do. Thankfully holidays are coming up

The fishing sidequest was horrible.

Breath of fire 1 had the best. Walk up to fishing spot, push button once, get fish.

The most recent game where I fucking hated the fishing was Sea of Stars.

I really miss the FC style of shining poms being on the field.

Good news: Zero and Azure go back to having shining poms on the map.

3rd has one fixed spot in the final chapter with a shining pom on the map that triggers a fight with 1 Tempest Pom + 6 shining poms, but it has some conditions to spawn/respawn. It spawns at the end of the lowest layer, The Abyss. You have to kill all 3 of the "bosses" on that layer in a single trip again every time you want to fight it.

I'm bout to get started on chapter 6 now that my grinding break is done.

Richard is so flippin' op you'd be crazy to not use him. Not that the game won't make you anyway.

Fun little trivia about playable characters (about someone who isn't), Kanone was considered, but the devs only went as far as to give her status screen art.

It's a crime that Richard hasn't been in ANY Trails game since 3rd. I think he was mentioned once or twice but that's it.

Yeah, he gets some references and you overhear a conversation someone is having with him on the other end, but thats it.

I'd like to see Anelace show up again. She gets a single line referencing her and a single panel in a slide showing her with an updated outfit, and thats it afaik.

I just finished all the doors including the nightmare arena.

This is a slight spoiler but an important word of warning: you aren't gonna get another chance to adjust your party. Whatever arrangement you pick now, that's what you're stuck with for the rest of the game. So, y'know, make sure you're really satisfied with your parties. You don't wanna end up the same way I did, accidentally taking frickin' Zin and Josette into the final battle~

No, it's whatever team you put Anelace on.

I'm going through and fully kitting them out now.

Used Zemurian ore on Richard, Tita, Renne, and Vander/Agate (Anelace unique weapon is basically still the best)

I'd ideally like to get all of them set up such that I won't need to juggle equipment / orbments ever again.

But I divided up the teams such that:

1. Associated characters are in the same party (most important)
2. Everyone has one ranged attacker
3. Everyone has one Arts specialist
4. Everyone has 2 front line melee
5. Everyone has two men / two women minus the one group because there's more female characters than male ones
6. Kevin's party is fucking stacked

I kinda wish I'd played these games when they were brand new. This seems like the perfect game for me to do multiple NG+ runs and completely stack out a team with multiples of the stuff you only get one of and do things like grind for rare drops. Alas, I must finish and move on to the next.

I'm definitely gonna come back to this game at some point.

The problem is that as far as gameplay is concerned Cold Steel just does the whole "goofy stacked nonsense" better. Especially once NG+ enters the mix. To that end it really is all about the story when talking about TitS replays as its narrative is a lot stronger in some ways versus CS.

I'm glad I picked them up when I did, since now we're finally getting all of the games in the west.

It's done. I'm done with TITS, now it's time for ASS...zure..... IDK.... Zero comes first anyway IIRC.

The final boss was kind of a pain in the ass with the pillars that were immune to all arts except one. Had I known that was gonna happen I'd stick Joshua and Agate in Kevin's team instead for the All S-Crafts

Ugh technical problems with Zero. First I had no sound so I fixed it and now it won't detect my controller and the keyboard controls suck. I'm gonna see about using a mapper.

It does but I'm using a shitty 8BitDo controller because it's small enough to fit in a tiny compartment under my desk and while the system detects it, the game does not. I was able to activate Steam Input though and that solved all my problems.

I'll probably start playing it seriously later. I just wanted to get the game started & running.

I've played all of the Trails games up to midway through ToCS1 on an 8BitDo Pro 2 without any issues, weird

It's super weird because it worked no problems through the entire Sky trilogy. This is the first time I ran into a problem.

Gonna do some playing today because I doubt I'll be able to play at all tomorrow.

Ok done for now. Worst case scenario I'll play again on Friday.
