Or if the First Order that Abrams built up was destroyed in a 30 second scene. Or if the Knights of Ren were all just executed off camera and suddenly all the Sith were back in hiding. Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic '06, etc. are despised for a reason. Sonic Team just cannot stick with an idea and build on it, otherwise we'd have more games in the Adventure 1/2 style. Those games suffer from the non-speed characters being a chore, but the speed characters are 3D Sonic at its best. Sonic Team's problem is that even when they do "give fans what they asked for" they do it using the goddamn Monkey's Paw. They answer fan request only to fuck it up in some other way.
