I've seen people get aggravated when they have to use a kiosk to order instead of the front counter. It's faster, easier, and better in every way.

I only get pissed off when the kiosk asks me to fucking log in rather than just having the menu available as the first screen.

Kind of funny that it's usually the older folks who opposed raising minimum wage and now bitch about more kiosks and self checkouts.

I wouldn't like using a public touchscreen before eating.

Honestly I prefer it.

Using an app to look at a menu is so much preferable because you can see every available option. Trying to stand there or sit in a drive through and peruse a menu on a computer screen that rotates between different images is infuriating.

Depending the place I guess. If it's McDonald's and you don't know what you what you want...

I find it very difficult to order at the register at a lot of fast food places because I rarely speak the same language, which means my order typically ended up wrong. I much prefer the touch screen.

I have older relatives who complain about them chiefly because they cant read the text that is often very small.

Depends on the person taking the order. Sometimes human interaction is better

I don't mind it, but it's not really faster unless there's a long line at the register. I just use apps and drive-thrus whenever possible. Drive thru is always the priority. Whenever I order inside I'll be standing there forever waiting for my number to be called.

Your hands will be contaminated again once you try to get out of the toilet by touching the door handles.

Prefer it here in New Zealand because my American accent has resulted in me getting the wrong item before. Got a double chicken sandwich instead of a double cheeseburger once, not sure how that happened but it did.

Loved them in South Korea where you'd press a button for English and could order from the kiosk thingy. Back then I could usually reliably order things in Korean if I wanted to but at least with the touchscreen it was always what I wanted and I didn't have to worry about anything being lost in translation which happened a few times.

I don't mind kiosks as long as they are working properly. About 1/4 of the time there's some sort of error where they won't give a ticket/receipt.

Order in app, pick up in drive thru. Gives me time to browse the menu and pay. No need for me to yell at a speaker box while trying to figure out what I want from the 50 items they have for sell crammed into the drive menu.

Only place I've ordered from a kiosk was Taco Bell, and it was simple, order, pay, type in a fake name, wait for them to yell it out.

The only cool thing about those kiosks is they've revealed the types of substitutions you can do on your orders. Taco Bell has a crazy amount of substitutions.

I rarely eat fast food tho and if I am eating it I'm definitely going through the drive thru.

I dont prefer the kiosk because I usually use cash so its like okay I ordered from the kiosk and now I have to go to the counter and pay cash to the person

seems like an unnecessary extra step

Apparently, in US kiosk is some kind of app? All i know it was some kind of a small vendor hut.

Most of my life I've understood "kiosk" to be those small little stands primarily within malls in the middle of the walkway, so it surprised me that it's also used for machines you order from.

You seem proficient in English, so what's the language you rarely speak with employees?

Depends where Im at. If Im somewhere that expects tipping I dont really like kiosks

It's faster than saying "Number 1 combo with cheese, no sauce, no onions" and then having to go back because the overworked human made a mistake in inputting the order
