every now and then i go down, restock on some basic ramens, grab a drink and snack, etc but he largely recognizes me as a ramen lover

today he points out another stack of ramens I didn't realize was there, like I said I usually get the basics but oh in the other pile there's buldaks so that's good to know

he asked me how old i am, then pointed out the buldak and neogiri pile was the BTS ramen and I look and it has a sign with BTS underlined lol, definitely gotta pick next time

and can't forget the euphoria when I'm called lady

so much contest bot progress without actually doing any testing aaaaaaaaaaa it's wracking my brain

I believe I've programed starting rounds, telling bot to then start scanning rounds, how to read & log saves, how to end a round when only the elimated remains, and how to set bot to then start the next round (although nothing about handling finals yet, thus how to ultimately end a contest), and soooo many little functions in between like converting the time a save was made to my hour-neutral "a5433" format

but not yet how keep track of its progress within a round or how to respond before the round ends

I don't have a sample contest set up yet either that's another reason I can't actually test what I'm writing yet so boy there's gonna be a lot of debugging tomorrow but for today I'm tired

I tried to press Ctrl+Windows+X which is my DisplayFusion shortcut to send the current active window to the next monitor

instead I pressed Ctrl+Windows+D and found out that's a Windows shortcut to open a new virtual desktop, and I look up to find Ctrl+Win+Left/Right/F4 to navigate and close them

hmm maybe I'll actually use windows virtual desktops with this information

today gdad's birthday.... gbro visiting, since it's gdad's birthday i gotta play nice this time (plus gmom pressure)

Just had such a vivid dream about visiting an old home. Upon waking up it was clear this was a house I'd never actually lived in, but wow during the dream I was just flooded with so many realistic-seeming memories.

I have a coworker on my team who is very right wing and is ranting today about "saving the environment" is bad

He's ranted in the past about covid shots and diversity in the workplace and is very much a debatebro

I'm on a call with him for like 5 hours a day every day with only our team of 4 so he's less afraid to be open. When with other people in the company, he judges who they are then he may pass a sarcastic comment here and there like if something goes wrong with a judgement call he's like "like always listening to the government like take your covid shots no questions"

Ive been taking more sick days recently and a part of me may realize it's partially so I don't have to listen to him

Like absolutely sure a lot of times worth noting for theorizing why results may come out as they do, but yeesh I feel they've only ever considered cultural explanations once, for "throws like a girl". But there has been soooooooooooooooo many more of these myths on sex & sexuality that they purely go on biological theories - men tip boobs because fertility, women like high-earners because men are biological providers, men grill because fire is primal (wtf), and just assert it with absolutely no effort in examining ingrained cultural factors that are so much more interesting to examine

watching science entertainment shows as an adult with better understandings of the world than I did as a child sure does pinpoint these cases where they clearly experiment outside of their expertise

I am sure a lot of you have already banished Ulti to the shadow realm, but if he ever says anything in your presence that is hurtful please remind him that Sir Chris used to tell him when hurt Chris or people Chris cared about that his mother, who is dead, would be ashamed of his actions and he must do better. And right now he is hurting someone. It's worked for me for 18 or so years now and I have had no direct issues with Ulti either on my behalf or when I have intervened on the behalf of others.

Just thought I'd share in case anyone still gets upset by Ulti these days, and I know you dillos folks are good folks.

I may not relate with your capacity to put things behind you in the context of of understanding where that toxic behaviour is coming from, but I appreciate that that insight is offered both ways and not simply defending bad behaviour. I know I've certainly been granted that same effort of understanding when needed so yeah.

for me though I'm sure you've seen some of the many times I've talked about my brother who is absolutely the most reprehensible person I can think of, and I while can recognize the trauma that made him this way as well...... oh dear god it's absolutely not enough to make any second around him the slightest bit tolerable so that stuff really exhausts me

Yeah, I understand. It's not even, to me, about defending the bad behavior. I just feel like more bad stuff gets put into the world if people think of Ulti as a conman instead of just a dude who hurts people because he was hurt which doesn't make it ok, right, or even something you should care about. It's more like me trying to reduce the back and forth stuff tbh. Ulti has said some unhinged shit, he has hurt people, but I feel like making him out to be this villain just breathes life into the pain process. At least, it feels that way?

• Zuka's arc in the show has been soooo slowww, like it's not terrible but I'm like shit or get off the pot already. I thought it was finally happening in the finale and I was like yay but then ugh
• I felt like this season got sidetracked the Appa capture, then following it into the clueless Earth King plot just wasn't an interesting note to end the season on.
• Thankfully Azula & the girls have been a great team of antags, the sister is smart & threatening, the acrobatic girl is fun, and just the whole trio has some personality
• Iroh one of the best characters
