You know, where the hell is Russia's Air Force in all this? You would think that one good carpet bomb would wipe out the entire line and stop this offensive. Is it their Air Force is really that wiped out from the war? Or are they actually siding with Wagner and opting to let them pass?

At this point, it seems like the only people left in Russia that actually want to stop them is Putin's private security force, and if rumors are true that Putin has fled Moscow anyway I don't know how hard they're really going to fight at the end of the day.

It can easily be both. Prigo is a smart dude and probably the most experienced field officer there. Hording ammo and supplies is an age old game because you never know when things are gonna go tits up logistically. So you horde it but keep saying you don't have any.

There's an unhinged rant from Prigozhen on Reddit where he calls Shoigu a lot of bad but probably true things but in it he singles out March as a significant date in which the Kremlin apparently lied about what Ukraine was doing that pissed him off so much that it was when he probably started planning this.

He seems genuinely upset. That doesn't make him sympathetic necessarily but I don't think this is just a power grab.

You're the first person I've actually seen make the Caesar comparison. I'm expecting to see it brought up a lot more, but I was chatting yesterday with a friend of mine who teaches classics and we were both in agreement that it's closest historical comparison to what we're seeing happen right now.

This is a significant danger as well when you start conscripting soldiers. Conscripts will resent the state for conscripting them and also want to join the general they think will protect them.

There's a reason modern governments don't have their own Wagner force, Putin you dumbass.

No links right now (at a social event, sorry), but Twitter and Russian Telegram is awash with reports that Ukraine has crossed the Dnipro at the Anatovsky Bridge. Fights are taking place there. There are separate reports that Ukraine is also on the move in several directions around Bakhmut on both the northern and southern flanks. Sadly, no information about any moves in the Zaporizhzhia and western Donetsk directions, but I have to assume they'll be quickly approaching if there are any troops pulled away back to Kherson.

If this is true, then it looks like Ukraine decided the time was now to take advantage. Let's hope these moves are real and fruitful.

The U.S. and NATO need to carefully track every flight out of Russia to other countries, then get "boots on the ground" to track where these nazis flee from there and hunt them down for trial at the Hague (or end them if they try to resist).
I don't want another "nazis lounging in South America for decades" situation. Putin especially, he already is proven to have body doubles and will undoubtedly try to use them to obscure his true destination.

For Ukraine, I hope Putin pulls back his troops and gives them a huge opportunity to take back land easily. I'm honestly disappointed that Prigo's basically had the red carpet rolled out for him and Kremlin cronies are already fleeing rather than fighting. It'd actually be super easy, barely an inconvenience for Russian forces on the Ukraine front and Putin.
All the forces in Moscow have to do is hold up their defensive positions for a week, and all the forces in Ukraine have to do is be loyal to Putin.
Then the Ukraine forces could "encircle the encirclement" and put Wagner in a pincer.

But unfortunately for Putler, his troops are fucking cowards and have no loyalty to him. Moscow will fall pathetically easily, and any returning troops are more likely to join the winning side than help Putler.

Depends on who the deal was made with, but this is a huge blunder on his part. He likely just got himself, and everyone in Wagner killed or jailed.
