Worth pointing out in 4 years time we'll be seeing teams worse than Costa Rica qualifying for a World Cup. Luckily we only have to put up with them for 2 games rather than 3.

I do feel sorry for Courtois and De Bruyne, both of which would undoubtfully play in a best XI in the world right now and are stuck in this team.

I think they've been better than their match against Canada despite what the results show, but that's not saying a whole lot.

What a choke by Japan, even if Germany loses today, I'd still rank them as favourites at finishing second.

Considering how poorly Belgium played against Canada, I'm not surprised they lost to Morocco. I'm still hoping for a result against Croatia, but now I'm not feeling so good about it.

There are 2 possible ways for that to happen but they both require Croatia and Belgium drawing that last game.

The way it's set up now Germany have gone from the plane home to an easier route to the semi final.

... Which, honestly, has decent odds on it happening. We just need Canada to pull the upset today.

Well there's also the scenario that Canada win their 2 games and Morocco finish second on GD to Croatia if they beat Belgium.

Germany needs to do a lot better if there's any easy route for them anywhere.

You don't give a team like Germany a second chance and watch them waste it. If they don't makte the quarter final minimum i'll be shocked.

Germany had a second chance in 2018 and still wasted it. Though I agree that Germany could still reasonably make the quarters this year.

It's a real shame Canada didn't get the draw against Belgium. Otherwise a win for them here today would've meant a draw with Morocco would see them both through regardless.
