Yeah, England did not look like a team that should beat the Ecaudor team I saw earlier. Keeping the clean sheet is good but a team with slightly better finishing than USA would have ruined that.

Only real benefit of the draw is that if Wales does beat England we are the top of the group

Lot of the good teams have looked off so far and even teams with big wins have some question marks to them.

Not saying i watch a lot of soccer but i'm confused why the US team wasn't pushing super hard near the end of the game for a goal. Draw and loss were basically the same outside of getting blown out, only a win mattered and they just seemed content with the draw. I don't get it

You make a good point here. They have to beat Iran no matter what if they lose or draw so just go all out for the win.

Yeah, maybe Berhalter doesnt want the team to gamble and lose a game that they played so well for the last 60 minutes (or so). I think he is building something and a draw against England is good for morale.

but yeah that last play should have been into the box

Because they ran out of gas.

Not too mad, I think Southgate could have gone more aggressive but as said we're basically through by drawing anyway.

I know it's all about Messi tomorrow, but if Lewandowski can't turn up against KSA then his international legacy is really underwhelming.
Poland's so often looked awful at international tournaments while looking solid in the qualifiers.

Sancho is not even in the squad, but yeah I'm surprised Foden isn't used more.

I've got a feeling Argentina will still win the group and Saudi Arabia will sadly miss out.

Belgium and England have the same problem: manager. Both have their qualities and have lifted their national teams to their respective levels, but their deficiencies also keep holding them back. What is going through your mind when you decide to put on Grealish and Henderson? England's game was crying out for Foden or Maddison.

England's biggest problem was having Chilwell and Reece James both out before the tournament.
But I completely forgot he omitted to pick Sancho.
Should have picked Toney for games like this.

Southgate just makes one for one changes instead of trying to change things. Always leaves it way too late as well. I feel sorry for Bellingham because as soon as the knockout rounds start he'll be benched for another defender.

That's 4 AFC teams that have won matches thus far (Saudi Arabia, Japan, Iran and now Australia). Leaves only South Korea and hosts Qatar.

Barring a shock after the Aussies just need a point again Denmark.

Good result for us, we'll be favorites against Australia, the first match was a fluke. But let's see in a couple of hours if we can beat France for the third time this year.

They probably aren't, but I believe Saudi Arabia should be favorites in this coming match. The first match was labeled way too much as a Argentina flop (it also was, mind you), but Saudi Arabia had a very good match.

I really would like to see a good Lewandowski game though. He's been the very best or close to for years and it's a shame that he has never had a good apearence for Poland.

Beating Argentina means absolutely nothing if you don't go on to qualify. I'm gonna be watching this group closely as it could end up creating 2 groups of 4 teams in the last 16 with kinder paths to the semi finals.

Agreed. This Poland looks as if they're the worst team in the tournament aside from Qatar and maybe Costa Rica.

Speaking of yellows, Saudi already has one player who won't be available for the Mexico match due to yellows in consecutive matches, so they could be in trouble if they don't win today.
