I mean thats why you shouldnt go tall. Especially with nothing to protect your investment. You certainly can but you have to have more strategy to make it work.

Also that opponent fell into the trap of not reading your big synchros. He deserved that.

Decided to play the festival some more just for funsies. Had a nail-biting duel against Swordsoul. Stayed alive by banish-locking their Cheng (the level 10) with Time Breaker Magician, and cinched the game when I went into Horus. They gave me a leftover tuner token and I synchro'd Horus right into Nirvana High Paladin.

Iris Swordsoul is a surprisingly tough card to play around if you haven't set up yet. She's not optimal but she ended up being the main threat to my comeback lol.

I just discovered dragon lockdown decks are a thing and they use Horus, one of my favorite cards from old Yugioh games.

Found my new deck basis! I love a good lockdown deck and using Horus is just a bonus. I find stun, stall, and lockdown decks are wayyyyy more fun then using standard combo decks.

If you have all the staple hand traps and 3 pot of desires, yeah Zoodiac is really cheap to build for. You need Zeus, Drident, and potentially 3 Thoroughblade, which is an SR.

There are a lot of replacements for hand traps too, but the less hand traps, the less powerful your going 2nd basically. But you can start putting protection related stuff to keep your Zeus on the board

Frustrating losing streak. I've been runnin 3 Ash 3 Imperm in my festival deck and have consistently opened zero in like 10 duels

I just saw Madolche guide and goddamn you need ~8 of Madolche URs.

I've seen some people who want to build Marincess in the future huffing copium and saying that the datamined Salamangreat structure deck might have Cynet Mining in it when it comes out. It's certainly possible (only the most optimistic people thought the Dragonmaid one would have Spheres and REDMD and it ended up having those) and would definitely make building a Marincess deck a bit cheaper.

Anywho, my Flower Cardians when they go off is great. Running into so much sword soul that just auto pilot is hurting my brain. There is zero skill in that deck.

Finally got to the tail end of the rewards. Gotten quite a few spins but like 3 URs total in like 4-5 thousand gems. Its ruff out here. Im just glad Im banking it again and not really needing to spend it unless I want to. Not sure I want to invest into more lightflares or Lightshowers quite yet.

Another Triple Talent tactics to go up to 2 is looking pretty tempting. Would probably max out my staples outside things like Links. I still dont get IP Masquerena other then being a good 2 link for set ups. I think I dont play the decks where she has the impact shes meant for though.

All in all Im up to 5 good decks. Even if Thundras have really fallen down and arent as fun anymore. Thems them breaks I guess

No doubt. But you play Rokket dont you? Thats the jam! Its why I like DPE still, its perfectly ok in my Heroes deck. Its not abuse if its part of your Archtype. Even if fusion destiny is in jail because of it.

Yeah, I'm still bad at it but I do main Rokket/Borrel.

But I do use Borrelsword as my main 'I need to kill them now' monster in other decks whenever I can/it is possible summon it, so I:P is very much a complement.
Surprisingly some people forgot that I I:P'd it so they wasted a destruction trying to get rid of it.

I really need to take a long look at all of my decks before the banlist comes. I might dismantle a few of them that I'm not playing as often to get some crafting materials back, and I need to re-think whether the Adventure/DPE package is worth keeping in the decks that I use them in.

From what I have seen the DPE package isnt worth it now and Adventure is taking a serious hit as well. They wont be as consistent to include anymore.

Not to mention the hit to Haliq

I found some of my old cards recently Summoned Skull was the strongest monster I had back then. Man, I wish things were better for him, he has ritual, fusion ,synchro and xyz but they don't really go together well nor does he really have a deck to call his own and he's definitely not splashable. God those days of giving him the face ax and just shitting on players who thought they were bad with their ten a penny blue eyes

It is really weird there isnt a true Summon Skull Archtype. There is plenty of others that have gotten support over the years. And after Vrains they were free to design sets how ever they wanted.

Its a konspiracy! No one at Konami likes Senior Summon Skull!

Summon Skull technically has support with Archfiends. Not that Archfiends are much better, but the errata card says he's always treated as an Archfiend.

They might be worth it in Sky Strikers, at least as long as Verte is around. Verte into DPE gives the deck an option going first, Adventure engine can dump spells in the grave early on even if it doesn't set up the Gryphon negate, and Denier/Malicious can make up for the loss of Halq by providing link material on the next turn to climb into Accesscode. I also might keep the DPE engine (though with Denier/Dasher instead of Denier/Malicious) in my U.A. deck, and I have a few other decks that use DPE, Adventurer, or both that I'll need to look into.

Even in Red-Eyes where they have Archfiend Black Skull Dragon, the requirement is changed to 'Lv 6 Archfiend normal monster'.

Then, why would you spend precious SR CP for Summoned Skull when Beast of Talwar also does its job, only 100 less ATK but 900 more DEF, while being an R rarity?

Someome must be having a vendetta against SSkull.

Edit: until Verte is banned, DPE will still be in (nearly) everyone's deck.

And somehow your opponent will always topdeck FD even without Verte.

Yeah I decided to keep DPE in Strikers because its easy to make Verte and besides the going first setup, hes also an easy to make comeback play. (Especially now that Halq is banned and Accesscode isnt a guarantee)

So far its been pretty rare that I bricked with the D heroes. Drawing just 1 isnt a deal breaker. Ill keep him in until I brick enough to get salty. >_>

Now that I cleared the festival I'm gonna try and turbo through Platinum for the gems. Staying the hell away from Diamond, though. >_>

Kind of surprised at the diversity in Platinum so far. Made it to 3 before I called it quits and while Despia and Swordsoul were dominant, I still ran into random stuff like Witchcrafters, Yosenju, Altergeist, Infernoids, and Dragon Maids.

Made Zeus for Xyz event mission.

Became Kaiju bait every time.

Ugh now I remember why I hated Platinum and I just gotta vent. It's not even the difficulty per se, it's that you see the most annoying, goofiest shit there and the Konami Algorithm finds a way to specifically screw you over.

Both times I was one win away from Plat 2, the game makes me go second against bullshit gimmicks with brick hands. Lost to some weird Chaos Deck out and Bamboo Turn Skip, followed by hopeless losing streaks that put me back at the bottom of the rank.

It just feels so goddamn calculated. Every time I get a streak of brick hands it's when Im about to rank up. And I dont mean "ugh I don't have full combo" I mean like draw 3 Maxx C and 2 Lightning storm going first brick hand arrrrrrrg

I did steal his shit to make Zeus once, and then I think I blew it too early because I didn't read his cards and realize I could choose which card I can choose to tribute. I could've won it I think

I managed to reach Diamond with sky strikers this time but out of 20 games, I bricked 13 fucking times. I kept drawing multiple Maxx Cs, Ash Blossoms, Lightning Storms yet no Rayes at all. It was so frustrating. Even in Diamond I played 8 matches and drew 0 Rayes in 5 of those matches.

5k gems into Dragunity secret pack.

2 Ascalon, 2 Aredbhair, 1 Gram, 3 Ravine, 1 Gae Dearg, 6(!) Remus, 6(!) Ice Dragon Prison.
I haven't got any Dragunity Legatus, Dragunity Divine Lance, and Dragunity Whirlwind.

While Divine Lance seems a 'maybe' one-off, Whirlwind is pretty neat and Legatus is combo pieces.
Guess I have to put more into the pack.

Random shower thought: does anyone else think Despia was harder to play against before Branded Fusion? Lol

Even as much as Ive been hating platinum, most Despia players just sit on Mirrorjade/Branded in Red and *maybe* the tax dragon. Jade's boardwipe is hardly even relevant and I think Ive only had it resolved on me once.

I kinda forget what they were doing before but I remember all sorts of annoying shit and it felt like nothing in that deck ever stayed gone. But now that the plays revolve around Mirrorjade Ive found them surprisingly easy to shut down. >_>

In Gold, Despia before had Dramaturge in the field negating my EX deck monsters backed up by Tax Dragon and another Tax Dragon via Branded in Red.

Despia now has Mirrorjade yeeting my monster before it even resolve, backed up with Tax Dragon (or better yet, ANOTHER Mirrorjade) via Branded in Red.

The difference was that I actually had a chance with only Tax Dragons. What chance do I have when my monsters gets yeeted before it even blink, and, to make it worse, Ad Libitum can reset said yeet from the same card?

I was relaxing in Casual and came across a tough Dragonmaid player. Put a lot of effort into breaking their turn 1 board with my Pendulums but even though I was able to draw it out to turn 5-ish I couldn't pull off a win. Still though, was a really refreshing duel from ranked. One of those "I'm not even mad I lost" kinda things.

Looking back what screwed me the most was blowing my Ash on Quick Launch. Assumed they were playing Rokkets and was gambling on them having a brick hand (also I genuinely don't know what to hit with them lmao) but then they Gamma'd me into Chaos Ruler, and then Kitchen got on the field and it was all downhill from there.

Oh! Come to think of it I realize I let him Sheo my Poison Magician because I knew I'd still get the pop, but I forgot that ruling about negated activations never actually touching the field, so Pendulumgraph didn't procc. Had I thought to chain the trap to kill it ahead of time I coulda cleared two monsters on board and used my search...but I think they still woulda had me regardless. Ah well

+2k gems more for a total of 7k gems spent.

The game is trolling me by giving more Remus and 2 other SR Synchros instead of directly giving the missing ones. >__>

I will just dismantle the surplus SR of Remus and Ice Prison as well as 2 of Vajrayana & Gormfaobhar for a total of 120 CP, enough to make 1 Legatus and 3 Whirlwind (maybe gonna spend more SR CP for one more Legatus).

But with that extra UR CP, I consider this 7k gems a win tbh.
