Honestly while ash and maxx c can be really useful, they end up bricking more than helping. And harpies aren't a deck that can 1 card combo so having majority of your opening hand being hand traps can just lose you the game.

Maxx c does nothing against floo and a lot of decks can simply play through ash. Most decks struggle to play against number 41 in defense and barrier.

Ah makes sense. I've tried running some decks without handtraps, but immediately after I take them out I get like, ten straight games going second against combo decks and not having any interaction just feels sucky. >___>

All the time I felt taking out my Ash and Maxx C, because sometimes it doesn't matter, and put some other cards instead.

Like how, the few times Maxx C resolves, Robina says hello. Or how some decks just laugh at Ash.

But then not having them just feels...wrong somehow, And it's not like some other cards of mine are any better.

Ash does feel the more 'mainstay' of the two, though.

Maxx C is definitely expendable. It's a really powerful card but it rarely helps after turn 1 and as long as your deck can function with an opening hand it's really just there to nuke your opponent. I can see dropping it if your deck is tight on space and prefers other combo pieces/extenders.

But since everyone runs Maxx C I kinda feel like I need 3 Ash and 2 Called in every deck just to maximize my chances of being allowed to play. Maxx has about a 30% chance of showing up in an opening hand, while 3Ash2Called means you'll draw into at least one of them about 50% of the time.

Adventure Engine is dead with Gryphon Rider being banned (Enchantress got put back to 2 in return though since it was at 1 in the OCG before) and Buster Lock is dead with Union Carrier being banned. Those both sound like great news. Floowandereeze is probably dead with a limit to Map and semi-limit to Dimensional Shifter. Sprights and Tearlaments (two archetypes not in MD yet but that have been dominating the OCG) got multiple big hits and Sprights in particular are probably dead, plus Frogs got their grave pissed on as collateral damage with the Swap Frog hit. Lightning Storm to 2 is weird but the OCG likes their awkward consistency hit semi-limits for some weird reason.

They also brought back Yata-Garasu and Time Seal like the TCG did (no one will play them because the meta has passed them by) and they eased up a few restrictions to help old archetypes. Widow Anchor to 3 makes me happy as a Sky Striker player, all of the "normal summon Aleister" chads out there will be happy about Magical Meltdown to 3, Pendulum players get another Double Iris Magician, and @GallisOTK ya boy Genex Ally Birdman is finally free.

If it hits Master Duel, I can still use Adventure myself since Dracoback bounce works well with normal monsters of which Red-Eyes is one. Though yeaaah having Gryphon banned means it is just back to usual vulnerability.

And Dragon Buster really should only be used by Buster Blader (unless your archetype can still force equip Dragon Buster without Union Carrier).

Adventure Engine is still useful for Sky Strikers too even without Gryphon Rider. It dumps spells in the grave while also providing link material and pulling out a Spellcaster-type monster for Selene. So even if Halqifibrax were to be banned, Rite + a single other summon of any kind can make Accesscode

Took a break from Ranked and dusted off ExoSisters for Free Duel. Had a really fun match against Eyes Restrict.

In 2 turns there were like 20 different effects between us and only one of them was a negate! Most of it was both of us moving bodies between our board and hand/deck to dodge each other's effects.

Funny thing is they probably woulda had me but they used a "return from GY to hand" effect while I had Vadis set and another sister on field. (After they saw me search it >_>)

Ran into Despia in casual. Will admit I was a bit tilted seeing it there but I decided to see how it played out.

Managed to beat them with DragonMaids. Tax Dragon had me down to 100 lp for the last few turns and I was just desperately trying to shut down their plays. Ash'd their last ditch Branded Fusion lmao

That's the way I saw it too.

Achieved triple Upstart and threw them into my Sky Strikers deck. First duel, break SwordSoul's board (Baronne + Chix + Dragite) and they surrender before I can properly make my comeback. >_>

Looking into other Pendulum decks to build and it seems like 3 Upstart 3 Chicken game is used in both Cerberus and Endymion. But the latter needs 3 Magicians Souls. So if I ever build that I may be on the long and winding road to Dark Magicians. <_<

For now Ill probably just make Dinomist for Casual lol.

Anyone got a list of the new Blue-Eyes support? What I've seen looks good but I don't think I've seen all of them. And while this will be harder, I'm also counting if the card has Blue-Eyes art since they're support in spirit.

Looks like a decent enough starter build to get the hang of things.

You shouldn't need more than 1 Selene. I'd replace the second copy with another strong, generic link 3 or 4. (If you have Accesscode or Appolousa they'd do well, especially since you have IP:M).

If you have Halq, a fun combo is using its second effect on your opponent's turn to summon Shooting Riser Dragon and synchro into SK Clear Wing as a quickplay Raigeki lol. (Also note that Tuning Magician is a 1-card Halq. Summon her, Link into Artemis, effect to summon herself, link into Halq.)

Performapal Odd-Eyes Synchron can be pretty useful since he can use a pendulum scale as material. Him and Oafdragon give you level 8s. And if you want to add Metaphys Horus (level 6, Synchron + most magicians) that's an option.

Also consider Supreme King Starving Venom. Its main use is copying Electrumite's effects for extending, if that's something that interests you.

If you want to play around with some extra stuff, Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm and Supreme King Gate is really useful. Abyss Actor Curtain Raiser is only an R and helps get bodies on the field for Electrumite. (If you can summon Elec without using your Pendulum Summon you're in good shape)

How many Abyss Actor do I need?
I saw how good it is and it feels weird to be @ 1.
Darkwurm and the SK Gates should be @ 1 each, and OE Synchron I'm guessing is also @ 1?

I might go above 40 and only using 1 Black Fang to save on SR CP.

Yeah, but the only -generic- Link 3/4 that I already have is Borrel Dragons, lol. Borrelsword has the best synergy with I:P, though.

Yeah pretty much all of them are 1s except AA, who is usually run at 3. But plenty of decks don't run it at all, so if if you feel it gets cloggy or just not vibing with it don't feel like you need to prioritize it.

Might utilize Darkwurm + Gate 0 for a 1 Black Fang replacement (besides, an extra Lv 7 ought to be useful /somehow/).

So the thing is I never fully read, or at least realized, TG Wonder Magician's full effect. The fact that you bring her out, pop/summon/activate scythe, then immediately synchro Wonder and Scythe into Baronne feels so dirty

I see a lot of Exosisters lately.

Hmm, haven't used them much in ranked but come to think of it, the only meta deck that doesn't consistently move stuff out of the GY right now are Floow and SwordSoul, and even the latter would prefer to be able to. Gotta see if I can do anything with it. I'm close to having another 30 UR CP so I might craft the Magistus boss since he's apparently pretty useful as a side engine. (And my last 30 UR will probably go to Dragite so my SwordSoul will be better equipped in the upcoming festival)

Other than that, just had the most amazing duel against a Utopia Player. They Double'd into Shizuku and left me with only 100 LP, but I clung onto life and managed to grind out the next few turns, finally using Unicorn + Shark Cannon to go into Accesscode and win.

Had the most exciting duel against Floow.

Oponent: they shotgun D. Shifter. I ash a Pot. They pass.

Me: I set Droplets and pass.

Opponent: Activate Map, I Ogre. They pass.

Me: Activate Fraktall, they scoop.

But Branded Tri is pretty fun, love how Revolt now gives you a free Negate lol

Crooked Cook? Yeah, he's a bitch. The way people make it and use it, it's unaffected by any card effects and it can't be destroyed by battle. So unless you have one of the few ways around its protections (Kaiju it away, use it as material for Underworld Goddess, attack it with piercing damage) then there's nothing you can do but surrender or sit there passing turns until they win with Exodia or Final Countdown.

No, not Cook, though they did summon one but I Old Man Solemn it away.

It's just an Xyz monster that I forget its name (has -1k ATK effect to opponent monster when it detaches one mat, has Hope as its name).

And Buster Blader Dragon Destroyer needs Buster Dragon to deal lethal, and guess what the dragon ended up become alongside the Buster Blader.

Indeed it does! Did a little research just to make sure too. The board wipe doesnt active because of Mirrorjade going back to the extra deck face down. Its an obscure one. The idea is that its going from a place of public knowledge to a place of private knowledge.

You could also just negate Mirrorjade of course but that isnt always handy. Hence why I mentioned Knightmare Unicorn. Its a generic link 3 bounce (dont forget you need a card in hand to use the effect!). But yeah Cyber Slash Harpie seems like a great way to deal with it.

If you really need checks, any bounce to hand effect will work.

If you can make Rank 4 Xyz, Exosister Asophiel has a bounce effect and works as a budget Castel the Skyblaster. She's only an R, too lol.

Yeah, there are some options but it just ain't feasible in some decks (lol rank 4 in Buster Blader).

My Rokkets have no trouble in that regard, though. I play mostly the Lv 4 and 7 Rokkets (and dragons that share similar look as Rokkets).

Yeah, double Gamma means CL1 will resolve normally, unless you have a second copy of Driver for some ungodly reason lol.
