I've had Ramza face off against Barret & Ghido, lost to both... maybe he needs to face Celes

Half of the remaining field has made the top 3 before. Will our champion come from this group of Cecil, Celes, Vivi, Tidus, Terra, Aerith, Tifa, Sephiroth, Rikku?

Or will it come from our ragtag underdog group of Galuf, Barret, Faris, Rinoa, Ramza, Jessie, Emet, Ghido, Dad?

I don't have grand allusions of a Vivi threepeat, but getting at least 7th for a new post-repeat best would be cool. I was actually surprised he managed to get 8th again so soon after his second win.

Sorry andylt, vision updated with new finals tweaks and Ghido now loses to Barret in the finals 350-330.... not as bad as Barret beating Ramza 350-281. Actually there's been a few Ghido > Barrets as well, including an equivalent 350-330 the other way, and 350-347 close match.

Also Celes > Ghido 350-297 & 350-315 & 350-312, Barret > Celes 350-322 & 350-340... Celes > Barret 350-337... Barret > Terra 350-295 & 350-268, Barret > Galuf 350-241 & 350-248... There was one Barret > Ramza early on I can't reduplicate and I didn't record but I give up. I should like set up a large number of emulations and chart the different finals results. Only winners have been Barret, Ghido, & Celes so far.

This is with people no longer saving the #2 after capping out 10 saves on their actual choice, and with finals rounds ignoring the attendance rates, now pulling smfffc saver for the finals (also users stats have been updated to Day 82)

I still understand how Ghido makes it into the finals, but Im not going to argue with it!

I can think of 2 factors that would really matter, which is how many people save him, and what's his average priority among them... so here's those numbers

As far as unique savers go he's certainly in the Top 3.... but in the bottom 5 for average priorities. Maybe # savers matters more, but also keeping in mind Avg Priority takes into account the full list of priorities of each user including among ded characters.

Then the next big factor would have to be attendance rates of their savers. Sephiroth v Barret, Seph has more savers and at higher priority, but I absolutely know that many of his savers have a low attendance rate. A saver missing a round would be a big deal surely.

Celes has a middling # of savers with a low average priority, but me and Yankees are both 100% attendance (among 19 other users)... also Ermine has Celes as his top remaining priority due to his alliance with Yankees, so stuff like trading skews things... although I have the only other Celes pact with Bane and that's only been around for 9 rounds. *shrug*

Does this take into account trades?

Nope, hence why it thinks Ermine is a Celes saver due to the Yankees pact. So surviving members of long-term trade pacts will definitely be favoured. Then again though... as a result it does in effect copy trades over to the emulation - because yeah Ermine *is* still saving Celes as part of that pact which still is continuing. Just have to wait a few rounds for Yankees switch to Vivi takes effect on his priorities. I suppose it would be a good idea to weigh priorities higher as the round goes on, so the most recent saves matter more.

Heh, guess my impromptu trades were part of a plan all along!
