I'm almost 60 hours into this thing and I still haven't beaten any of the main bosses besides Godrick (who I've beaten three times now - this guy keeps coming back!)

Talked to Roundtable Hold guy who gives you clues to all their whereabouts and made a note in my phone of them so I could actually start focusing on doing them. Then naturally I spent like 6 hours playing the game today not at all doing those things

Your first actual task is obviously Godrick, but where is he? Is it that big castle where nothing happens when you go in?

Some of The sites of grace point to other sites of grace to go to. I would check your map.

Weapons are pretty balanced. There are a few you can find that are instantly upgraded, and a few legendary weapons that are just flat better, but for the most part he game is balanced around all the weapons being equivalently good in different ways

I think the boss is who you have to kill first

But you don't have to. You can get extremely far just roaming around

Anywhere you want

There's honestly 30 hours of content you can get to by just roaming around and finding caves and tombs and forts and camps, and another 30 if you can beat one of two bosses that will let you sequence break (That aren't the boss the game is telling you to beat)

You are supposed to kill the boss, but if you are too weak to kill the boss, you have to go other places and "level grind" by exploring other things and finding ways to power up.

That's it. That's the game.

Man I wish I had found the whole Fia sidequest earlier, I was way too overleveled for it now

(I say that as if Fia's champions didnt kill me 3 times)

I have followed the arrows. One leads to the castle entrance I mentioned before (dead end), and the other leads to a boss I cant kill yet because my starting axe is lol

On spirits, mine is greyed out most of the time. Am I missing something?

Also Spirits are only summonable for hard challenges like bosses or heavily armed forts

Like most Evergaol bosses

Specifically, there will be a black and white symbol of like a gate on the left side of the screen if you are able to summon spirits

That guy is such a jerk! I found it extremely tough to discern safe attack windows (granted, I tend to use s l o w weapons), and the lightning strike was the first move in the game that had me really scratching my head

It's hard to justify my character dodging a hitscan move

if this is the boss i think it is, it's a tough one. i recommend skipping it for now and coming back later

i did actually end up co-op summoning to deal with the first phase

And he wasnt even guarding anything worth my time

Nah I spammed rocksling until his adds died.
My summons got beat up in a corner the whole time though.

The sewers, specifically the pipes, is hell.

All looks identical, for someone trying to scrape it makes you feel like you're losing your mind.

There is literally NO POINT you can EVER REACH where you are confidant you did not miss a path. I truly believe until Zullie or Illusory pulls out a 3D map that this will never change.

I was actually able to semi-map them out using rainbow stones. Placed them before confirmed dead ends so eventually I was no longer lost.

So I like that it gave me my one and only use for glowing stones in the series, but yeah the first time going through the sewers is dreadful.

You don't use them for invisible floors or large drops?

Nah I can usually tell when a fall is lethal, though this game has tricked me a few times.

Though you remind me that I did use them on the invisible bridge for that one tower. Looked pretty cool too

Finding myself getting increasingly fatigued with this game as I reach the final areas. I've enjoy my ~60 hours or so with it thus far, but I have very little interest in engaging with normal enemies that clock me for half of my health. I've basically been sprinting from grace point to grace point, ignoring everything else.

I'm close enough to the platinum that I'll still see it through, I only really have a handful of bosses left to take down, but the endgame has really soured me on this.

This is why I don't platinum games!

If you told me to chose between getting the platinum or not playing at all I would chose the latter.

Nothing worse than having an arbitrary completion requirement hanging over your head.

I want to explore areas because I want to, not because I have to.

I started getting fatigued around 80 hours, beat it, then NG+, currently just spending an hour or so every day just taking my time through NG++, but yeah fatigue definitely settles in around the common enemies after a certain point.

The platinum doesn't really have much to do with it, I don't think. The vast majority of the trophies are on the critical path anyway. It was more a comment that I think the final few areas suck because the enemies are way overtuned.

I want to explore Elphael. I just don't want to do it when it means grinding down enemies that deal way too much damage, so I'm basically just beelining to Malenia instead of getting to enjoy the area.
