Oh another big rec from me, it's on all platforms, but it hit game pass this week. Firewatch is a really great game, only like a 3 hour "walking simulator" but the story and voice acting is excellent, very cool, chill game.

My company gave the new chick a $5 gift card for christmas and she was fucking livid. I know now I don't wanna piss her off now. She's going to put in her two weeks and I honestly can't bring myself to stop her. She does great work and honestly for any employer to give an employee 5 bucks at the end of the year as a bonus is just fucking insulting.

I got a little bottle of Crown Royal when we stopped to get her shots. I gotta get up at 7am too so i'm gonna have a few sippy poos and pass out.

No that is absolute bullshit. I knoowwww she's gonna rip into someone at work and their gonna ask ME about it and i'm gonna defend her all the way. Last year I got a $200 bonus and if I had known they would pull this shit i'd say split the 200 with me and her. I sit around doin jack shit most of the time in IT anyway. I would happily split it with her.

This of course assuming I even get more than $5 this year.

A little bottle of Crown Royal Vanilla because i've never had it. I can't drink much because I gotta get up in 5 1/2 hours to take my car in. I just can't find time to drink anymore and it's not really a bad thing. I'm a happy camper.

Crown vanilla is hard to come by around here. I've only seen one shipment of 12 boxes come in and we sold through in a weekend. Been out entirely otherwise.

I always see it but i've never tried it. I've had the original a million times but I was never wanting the apple one and vanilla seemed like it would mix well with it and so far i'm ok with it. Not bad but I still like the original better.

Apple Crown is a really great weekend, then a really bad one.

That reminds me of the time I was working construction and the top bosses sent out a letter basically saying that because of all the hard work from everyone the company saw record profits and they gave out a 5% of coupon for a grocery store. I did not go back to that job after getting that letter.

I was in a poker drought. Finally managed to make a final table after failing for days lol. Finished 8th (not ideal but okay I got something out of it at least). Any of you folks play online poker? (preferably free lol)

I used to play a ton of hold em online, there was a good version on the Xbox 360 arcade back then, and I had hundreds of hours into it and a few hundred thousand bank roll. It was a go-to drinking game.

40 employees divided by my 200 bonus equals I can single handedly give those people $5 and not worry about it.

I've been going running with a high school friend all this week. I don't exercise - I have no motivation usually, no-one really checks in or holds me accountable for shit. But he was like "okay I'm going running and I'm taking you with me", and like a lemming I've been going along with it because it's nice to be around people and I had been thinking about exercise lately. Dude's been pushing me super hard, it's been hard yakka but I think I really need it.

I'm gonna keep up with the exercise, but I'm also going to have a healthy drink this weekend as opposed to the spiralling blackouts I've been going through lately. Dude's kind of a hardass because he cares and wants me to do well, but I'm not going to let one person's will dictate how I live my life. That's how I ended up in an 8 year friendship with a snake.

So fuck what anyone else thinks, I'm having gin and soda water with lime cordial. I'm already putting effort into making people happy, time for some me time.

Kinda whined in that last post, mb. The good news is that my first gin, soda and lime cordial mix was a great success. I poured the cordial before the gin, because it mixes better. I grew up drinking cordial and water, and you never pour the water before the cordial - in this case, the water was gin. And then soda water.

It might end up being more sugar than plain old gin, tonic and soda. But I'll be damned if this doesn't taste great.

That's great man. In my mid 20s I was really into running because of a friend. They invited me to run because they said they had no one to run with them. I spent the next couple years running 3.5 miles with them twice a week. That small bit of me not wanting to let then down gave me the motivation to keep going at it. I hated it the first couple weeks though

Oh yeah for real. Like I appreciate that they care about me, and while they push me to the absolute limit, I roll with it because they have a point. Broke a lot of boundaries this week, even though feeling out of breath and shit sucks. Don't want to let them down, I want to prove to them that I am willing to change and that I'm on that path.

The difference between day one and day two were night and day. Couldn't run 700m in one stretch, then the next day I managed to make the whole lap. The day after, I probably ran 1 kilometre unbroken. Couldn't have done it without this friend pushing me.

He's only in town for a little bit, and knowing me I'll probably drop this when he leaves. Maybe I won't, though - I'm planning to live a more active life if nothing else, less cabs. Depends if I get this job, because that's gonna consume most of my time if I get it.

idk, it's definitely a balance. I don't want to let him down, and I want to be better. But there's some stuff about my circumstances he doesn't really get, and I need to forge my own path and live my own way while taking good shit like this on board when it comes along. This is a healthy detour I might start doing regularly - there's still stuff in my life impeding my ability to progress on other fronts, hence the bitching on my end, but this is something I can manage.

idk, I'm already pretty buzzed lmao. went for a run today and all I've had are some sandwiches, a pear and some subway for dinner.

Oh I don't exercise much but when I do I push myself to the limit. Idk what it is but if I can get over the hurdle of getting off my ass and actually starting the exercise, I'll run my body(safely) into the ground. I can't imagine the magical shape my body would be in if I could just consistently get out there.

Well does he need to understand your circumstances to go running with you outside of physical health related things of course? Just enjoy getting out there and feeling better physically even if it is just while he's in town. I certainly can't knock you for not keeping up with it once he leaves. That would be my issue as well. I don't like running by myself.

Gigabit internet is a scam. If a "trial" can be switched off and on remotely, then the ISP's entire network already does that. Your internet is just being throttled and you're being extorted for a bullshit fee to pay for something you already have.

It's a "real world" equivalent of on-disc DLC.

We have 100/100 speeds and it's more than enough for my wife, BIL, myself, and my home server. Most people really don't need speeds over 50/50 imo.

In other news, my responsibilities for tomorrow got cancelled. I will return to my regularly scheduled drinking within the hour.

We have those at the house. My wife had me try her expensive bag vape volcano thing couple days ago. It's maybe the 5th time I've ever messed around with weed. Very pleasant light taste but put me to sleep. Still prefer alcohol.
