Yeah andy, 1 character! Who I was rooting for but never even saved outside of trades (though I was always ready to), not a whole "year" for a game that just won!

Bane is right, Year of VIvi locked in. Is the VI Ramza or a 2nd Locke finals loss... tbd!

OK our current options: Vivi > Ramza final, Vivi > Locke II, Ramza v Queen Brahne, Terra v Ghido, Yuffie v Tifa v Aerith, Rinoa championship, Tidus championship #2, Cidbowl, Mooglebowl. That seems to cover it all, everybody will be happy with one of those!

Yuffie got smashed by Zell, Tifa got wrecked by Edgar, Aeris was squeaked out by Kefka. I think Aeris would have the best shot! Aside from fatigue at just being there.

I just beat FFIV and ranked Kain second last, barely above Edge, so Janus being my nemesis makes a lot of sense.

Between Edge and Shadow, I'm sensing a pattern that I just don't like ninjas in Final Fantasy. Bad news for Yuffie if I ever play VII?

Palom and Porom were fine but weren't around enough to rise above that. Edge and kinda Kain were the only two I didn't like.

Tellah was the best, especially with the 3D game's voice acting! Dude sacrificed himself to cast meteor in an attempt to avenge his daughter, that's hardcore

EDIT: Oh, and regarding Cid P, yes he's great but I think he has probably peaked at second here. And Fang is still better than Cid P so I have no regrets about that final

Genny and I finally began our series playthrough, put in 2 hours into FF1 on our first sitdown with it. A lot of fun, really. I probably haven't played the game since I was in my preteens on a NES cartridge so it all felt pretty new. While I'm still with my same stance of the FF1 party members not being actual characters, we (that is to say 'I') decided to name our party after the quasi-notactually-canon names given to the party members in the novelization Memory of Heroes from 2012. It's on the FF wikia, so it must be canon. I considered a topic for it but meh. Probably won't be that fast moving to be too interesting for a read.

We went with Warrior (Zest), Thief (Sauber), Black Mage (Daewoo) and Red Mage (Puffy).

Just for fun, I checked for Brave Exvius sprites of dad characters in case I wanted to stitch a Year of Dads thing like I did for YRP. The results aren't great! Limiting it to one dad per game (sorry Cid P and Yang and King Giott... man FFIV has a lot of dads) and no former champs (sorry Vivi), there's Tellah, Galuf, Cyan, Barret, Jecht (ugh, it was either him or Wakka), Sazh, and Regis. No Laguna, no dads from IX or XII, and even Regis is a stretch because even in year of dads I imagine he'd go out at 100th.

I could do just a Tellah/Cyan one for my own personal priorities, but how does that further the cause of year of dads? Not that I plan to spend another hundred hours on this anyway and Year of Dads may yet crash and burn, but it was fun to think about.

I've already said I'm down for Cyan, and I'll help Tellah with a nomination but can't guarantee I'll be able to save him! A shame Roba won't be on the Rosa train.

Rubicante > Scarmiglione > Cagnazzo > Barbariccia as characters. Caggy was the hardest fight for me though, that damn Tsunami.

And while we're at it, Edge > Shadow > Yuffie. Though I may be alone on that one. I like Edge!
