Yes No Do you think this is a bomb? - Results (43 votes) Yes 39.53% (17 votes) 17 No 60.47% (26 votes) 26 It appears the much anticipated and highly rated Suicide Squad Reboot directed and written by James Gunn was not as spectacular with the viewers as once thought after the 4.1 million thursday previews and the movie only surmounting to a 12.1 million opening in 4002 theatres with a mid high 20M range which is under the 30M projected by Warner Brothers and others were eyeing. It's been weeks tracking high with it being the only super hero movie opening but the movie ended up even opening LOWER than BIRDS OF PREY which was a disappointing result as well at 33M Many are expecting the fan front loading with an expected drop on Saturday and some are wondering if the delta variant is scaring away viewers or if the property is not as strong as once thought despite a strong 100+ million opening for the original Suicide Squad that was much more hated by critics. Poor movie probably never had a chance, they should've rebranded or something, the name is just box office poison now. It's best hope is good word of mouth carries it in the following weeks to have minimal drop off and it does well in the long haul. That can happen, just as a hyped up movie can have a huge opening weekend, turn out to suck, and lose 80% of the audience by weekend 2. Nichtcrawler X posted... Sat isn't even over, so how can they know how well it will do, especially due to it streaming as well (and only for $15 AND you get HBO max for a month as well). Seriously it makes NO sense to see it in the theaters unless you just freaking LOVE theaters and even then, you may already have it for free at home. Black Widow isn't even the same as you had to pay seperate to watch that on Disney ($30 I think). This movie is FREE if you have HBO, and $15 max if you don't....while going to the theaters is generally at least $11 now and if you buy anything at all more than $15. I want to see it, I may even see it in the theaters, but I ain't doing it on the weekend for sure. I have not decided if i'll get HBO max (even though there isn't really anything I wanna see on it, it would give me a few more options), or watch it on Tuesday if they still have $8 matina prices etc. Anyway, it looks good to me. --- Tacobot 3000 "Saving the world from not having tacos." DCEU got a really bad reputation and Margot Robbies harley Quinn now has a bad reputation even though she did good. Idris Elba is amazing as is Viola Davis. I am curious how they will bring Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn together. I think Marvel has some great stuff on the way, but their two featured movie leads were military veterans with a mysterious past who make smart little quips. Then a few days ago I watched Suicide Squad with someone VERY dear to me, along with the pilots for Harley Quinn, and Doom Patrol. Then I watched Joker with my mom(who is also very dear to me.) It's nice be able to enjoy DC again. --- Unless you're loaded, save your money, and wait for sales. This isn't the 90's anymore, and most games don't become hard to find.
