I entered thinking something along the lines of "the answer is 'yes' unless you're talking about sleeping with minors." I'm presuming that's not what "dating/banging teens" means, given the caveat of "legally," so I guess it's all fair game (though even though 18-19-year-olds are legal, there's usually such a massive maturity gap that enjoying a relationship with one says some rather unflattering things about the older partner).

its fine. our generation really didnt grow up/mature. we still act irresponsible. just look at society as a whole today compared to 20 years ago.

you got WAP on the radio. People no longer commit to church or social activities within their communities. All we do is game/social media/porn thanks to the ever growing Internet

As for the title all this "Should it be okay for age group Y to do X" is so fucking dumb, stop trying to police what other people do, as long as it's legal and isn't hurting anybody go ahead.

I will say though that a 40 y/o sleeping with younger people is pretty creepy though, I'm 23 and wouldn't sleep with someone younger than 20, 18 year olds my be adults legally but mentally they're still kids.

I disagree. Some young people like older people. If you both want to have sex, go for it... Plus, maybe they havent been in a big yellow bus. My last two years of high school, I was in a car. Even before that, I got rides many times...

I hesitate to make any absolute judgements on the matter, but generally, it is indeed pretty weird. The first couple years after high school constitute a major shift in maturity and life experience for most people as they transition to starting to live on their own and make more meaningful career choices (and even those that don't make those changes themselves are surrounded by peers that do, which influences them). Even just that first year after high school makes a pretty big difference. Somebody well beyond that transition dating somebody so immature does raise some eyebrows and call their maturity into question.

Of course, like everything to do with age, there are absolutely exceptions. Plenty of 18-19-year-olds are mature enough to be of interest to a well-adjusted 40-year-old. That's not really the norm, though.

There's a sociological argument to be made that, in the same way the Industrial Revolution essentially created the concept of the "teenager" as a liminal stage between childhood and adult maturity, the Technological/Digital Revoution of the 20th century has effectively created a new liminal state somewhere in the early-to-mid 20s.

The fact that "higher education" has gone from being something of a luxury to almost a necessity, along with the difficulty for many to become fully financially independent in their teens/early 20s, has sort of become the new "teenage" state. Not to mention assumptions about emotional maturity and the effects of a lengthening lifespan overall.

Or to put it another way, we've potentially reached a point where you're not really an "adult" until you're nearly 30.

If it's okay to do something in your 20s, it's generally okay to do that same thing in your 40s (and things that are inappropriate in your 20s get more inappropriate in your 40s).

The maturity aspect is more an issue if it's an actual relationship, as opposed to just sleeping with another legal, consenting adult (or, I guess, depending on AOC it could be a legal minor although I wouldn't take any risks with that shit myself because there could always be some caveat). That said, there are people who have their together better at 18 than a lot of people do in their entire life. Age isn't necessarily a great marker because people mature at vastly different rates.

Didn't skateboard before 40 , not on my bucket list.

Didn't care for dirt bikes in my youth , but still ride motorcycles.

Not real sure I know exactly what a MMO is , but I'd say no I didn't do that before 40.

Teens should only be in your imagination - if a teen girl shows severe interest in your 40+ yo ass ; it's a hooker , a cop , a golddigger , or someone with issues that would be in your best interest to steer clear of.

There are still a couple of cereals I still enjoy , but that's rare occasion.

Never been on Snapchat , or been to nightclubs - no interest in either.
