2013, so about eight years old? TLOU is one of my favourite games from the PS360 era of gaming, but it doesnt need a remake. The PS4 remaster is plenty. Id rather they remade something older like ICO or Uncharted or something.

Resident Evil was only 6 years old when it got one of the best remakes of all time and Last of Us is older than that.

The original RE is chock full of bad voice acting and FMV sequences, a remake was necessary for improvement.

The Last of Us is fine just the way it is.

It feels weird to remake it so soon after the remaster. Is it just a thing to attract new players from the TV show whenever that comes out down the line?

This is a great point. They did the same thing with the original Ratchet & Clank and the movie.

I wonder if that means we can expect an Uncharted remake too.

TIX is the TLOU remake. The original dev team mostly left and Naughty Dog has control of the project.

To put it into perspective, TLOU came out when Draven was going apeshit on us.

Schreier is saying it'll essentially be TLOU with TLOU2 gameplay and graphics, which is definitely more of a full remake and less of a remaster. TLOU2 definitely felt a lot different (and better) to play, and the graphics might still be the best on the Playstation even after PS5 games have come out.

I don't feel like there's any point. The Last of Us looks and feels great and is readily available in every way imaginable on modern consoles. This is pretty worthless.

Or maybe I'm just biased because I'm super down on this brand RN.

A remake could be good. New gameplay, maybe some new scenes, adding the DLC bit into the story

TLoU feels like its world still has room to tell some stories. I'd be actively upset if they made another Uncharted after how perfectly 4 ended, though.

This whole story is pretty disappointing just in terms of the level of corporate bullshit that went down - nothing new from current era Sony, of course.

Fair point - I still kinda think of Lost Legacy as an expansion in my mind but it really is its own proper game.

Yeah like Leonhart said I think my beef is mainly that I don't want them ever touching Nate again after how 4 wrapped up and I don't trust them not to drag him in for one last one last one last one last job.

My ideal scenario if they do make another Uncharted would be for Cassie to be the lead. I might even be okay with Drake playing the Sully role in that case.

I dont think youre wrong to be down on Playstation. The Ryan era has been confused, going for a blockbuster-only approach but also trying to force games that obviously shouldnt be that into that mould like Returnal. Its a shame because I really like the pitch of the PS5 it just doesnt seem to be delivering on it.

I read the article, and I'm now certain that, unless there's a change in mindset, Playstation 4 will be my last Sony console.

Playstation's biggest strength as a brand was their variety, but now it's all gone. Everything is either a mature cinematic AAA awards-bait interactive movie, or a Dark Souls clone. One after another, all the franchises I was a fan of have either died or shifted to the only two kinds of games Sony have interest in making. Ratchet and Clank is the last one standing, and I'll put good money on Rift Apart being the last in the series due to the franchise not fitting either of those molds.

On topic, a remake of The Last of Us is pointless in my opinion because, as has already been brought up, the original is readily available and hasn't aged nearly enough to reach the point where it needs, or would benefit from, a remake. Honestly, there are too many remakes now in general, and lots of them are low-budget cash-ins that don't take the opportunity to improve on the originals in any way besides bringing the graphics up to modern standards.

Destruction All Stars - racing/battling

When were they making a bigger variety of games than they are now?

Zelda would beat Charizard, for sure. She'd probably beat Mega Man, too.

Cloud beats Squirtle. Beating Pikachu the round after might be tough if Snake holds him back though - unless Sora doesn't manage to blow it against Pikachu and Blue this time, in which case Snake's got a solid chance.
