I have to admit, the fact that you share a name with Radix from SDA is something I've always wondered about lol, your account is even old enough to be him. I knew you were different people though, I also knew SDA's Radix from the Metroid 2002 days, I dunno what he's up to nowadays

yeah i first heard about him because he was in an EGM article about metroid prime speedruns i think. 2003 or 4 i think

Radix fact - this name was inspired by dbz's own raditz who i was a fan of for reasons i dont remember and i first used it in 2001 (possibly 2) on the WotC forums back in my Magic days

I went back to watch some of the VOD of flying fox's run and lol @ the ending of Starlight 2. Never really seen a Tails run of that game.

yeah d3 was mostly good map spawns i think. also some good boss drops

river city girls was a solid run. also had some of the devs on commentary
river city ransom race was a neat mess

They said in the interview earlier that they had some tech. They didn't specify what it was, but they seemed extremely confident they'd break the record because of that. And then they had a run for the ages on top of that.

Its hilarious how absolutely dead GDQ is over the last few years. Obviously covid doesn't help, as you lose all of the grade A+ cringe humour, but its just amazing how they managed to kill the spirit of the event while still drawing in Funco Pop buying "gamers", despite having literally zero notable speedrunners anymore.

kosmic, coolkid and covertmuffin are definitely notable speedrunners, just to name a few.

Anyone know of any major incentives that have failed off-hand? I can't think of any but this blindfolded SM64 run is looking bad. They need 200k in like 7 hours which seems pretty tough.

Pretty sure they've never missed a "Bonus Game" incentive. Donations always ramp up quickly enough or Yetee drops some massive amount.

Yeah in the past 2 hours it's barely jumped 10K. There's no way they're raising 200k in 5 hours unless something crazy happens.

That being said I'm sure we'll still see the game but we'll see if they justify it or something.

The weird thing is that the Yetee donated 60k during one of these runs but it doesn't seem to be added to the SM64 incentive. They were at around 40k so it should be at least 100k but it's like 85k.

It still wouldn't really be close even with that added but I still doubt they skip the run.
