I probably would if both SM64 and Sunshine didn't have vastly superior versions available through emulation. Like it's kind of embarrassing to have Sunshine and *especially* SM64 have this limited release with almost no upgrades when such better options already exist. Galaxy with slightly less borked controls is at least somewhat appealing, though.

The entire reason I'm buying this is for Galaxy. I've only played a couple of minutes of it, when my niece asked for help in an early section.

Not pre-ordering, but getting it. Havent played Sunshine and its been ages since I played 74. Not really fond of the limited release bullshit stuff, but its not like Im gonna get to play them otherwise

not that it would've made a difference but when I preordered the game I forgot that I actually do own Sunshine on GC

I originally only played it from a Blockbuster rental so I totally forget that I did end up buying it later down the line, i just noticed the case as I was reorganizing my room the other day

Not pre-ordering. May potentially buy it down the line, because while the purchase period has an end date, at least the eShop can't sell out of copies like the physical version (...as far as we know...). I'll see how I feel in 3 months. I do love Sunshine yet I've never owned my own copy.

It's being removed from the eShop after March so you won't be able to buy it anymore, but they're not removing it from your Switch if you own it. It's not like Super Mario 35 which is an online-only game that is scheduled to go offline after March >:(

...Okay? It's not costing me anything extra to pre-order it, so I don't see the issue?

As for the rest

A. Switch is the hottest selling console right now, so I'm not sure why you'd suspect the amount of people owning a Switch to be low.
B. It's a collection of popular Mario games.
C. Physical copies are in short supply and thus there's a collector's aspect to it.

Yes, but after learning that you can't use the gamecube controller with the gamecube game, it's raising some giant red flags so I'll probably regret it.

There may never be an option to buy sm64 with a good controller ever again.

You can use the Game Cube controller like you would with any other game that supports the pro controller, but it's not optimized for it, meaning it simply recognizes it as a pro controller, which means no controlling FLUDD's water pressure.

Honestly the GameCube controller kinda sucks

Like I think it works really well for Smash but everything else is kinda eh, hell even Prime felt better with the Wiimotes

It always confounds me when someone who assumedly spends a lot of time on the internet misses something this big. Granted idk where you spend most of your time, but being on GameFAQs at all, it's easy to make assumptions.

Oh to answer the question though, yes I am part of the problem and preordered it immediately following the announcement.

This is Board 8, where people buy multiple copies of consoles that they already own just because a new model came out. Why are you surprised that people here of all places would want to collect a rare game?

people theorizing after the latest NIntendo minute which contained some SMG2 music in it when they were showing 3D All-Stars that SMG2 will be an unlockable in that collection.

That would be kinda crazy since it would be a huge selling point to have that game in there

They also played SMG2 music during the initial reveal presentation too. It means nothing and people are just setting themselves up for more disappointment.
