Probably around $100....though I may not spend that much again, but if quality is dictated by the price tag(some brands it is, some brands it is not) and they'll last forever, price doesn't matter too much.

The most I've paid is 30(around $40) and that was for hiking boots. I'd probably pay up to 50($65) for those providing they are good. Other footwear isn't worth me investing a lot of money into when they don't last me long and I've never been one for brands.

Depends what kinda shoe. If its casual/athletic I go fairly cheap. Not one of these sneakerheads thats into the latest hot new thing. I love boots though and for those I could do $1000. Rick Owens and Julius don't come cheap. You can get them for less on certain sites like Ebay. Speaking of sneakers I'm seeing these Air Dior sneakers going for 15k even on the resale sites and it's like lol. They look like shite too, I guess it's really for collectors.

Lol it's not like it's a regular purchase. If only. I wish I was well off and could afford a whole collection of Rick boots. Sites like Grailed have them new or mint condition for like $700-$800, which to put into context is less than half retail price. And at least boots can last you years. These things built like tanks. It's the ones that splurge on flimsy basketball shoes they'll never wear that puzzle me.

I have three pairs of Allen Edmonds that usually sell for $300-400 but I got them factory b quality and on sale and with student or military discount or something, I forget. Theyre my fancy shoes I wear at my job, I got them for $150-200 each. Ill get them resoled instead of replacing them.

I have a pair of boots and sandals each for a bit over $100.

I have a boat shoe for $80 and Stan Smiths for $40. Might get a white tennis show for $150 because I think itll last about as long as three pairs of Stan smiths while also being a bit better of a shoe.

Like three years ago I owned one pair of sneakers and Id wear them until I could out my hand in them and touch my sock from the bottom then replace, and did that for like the five years prior.

I haven't paid over $200 for a pair of shoes, but I'd be willing to for the right shoes. Because I've never been that keen on any shoes, I've kept it under $100 (and then usually under $30 for sneakers).

I will mention that the best pair of sandals I ever owned I got on clearance for either $12 or $15 (and I think the original MSRP was only $90, but this was like 15 or 20 years ago). They were probably a faux leather than an actual leather, but they looked great and were unbelievably comfortable, the first truly great pair of sandals I found up north. I wound up damaging them while hiking/walking and none of the repairs seemed to hold. I paid to have them repaired two or three times before giving up.

idk, if you're going to get a decade from a pair of shoes with only minor upkeep, that's probably not a terribly high price because at that point you're comparing it to buying cheaper shoes every few years (not to mention the aggravation of finding something new you like)

My last pair of boots were $75 from Tractor Supply. Leather with a rubber sole and steel toe.

Most I've ever paid for shoes was $125 for a pair of steel-toed boots. They lasted me over 10 years. They're still in decent shape except the sole came off. I wonder if I could reattach it with glue.

I have a pair of dress shoes that I think I paid about $40-50 for, like 20 years ago. But I have only worn them maybe a couple dozen times. They never really fit all that well so I hate wearing them.

I also have a pair of Kirkland-brand sneakers that were about $20 at Costco. I bought them for my SO but he never wore them. I started wearing them recently when I go out for one of my long walks. They have memory foam insoles and are easier on my feet than most of the boots I own.

I keep buying these crappy $20 rubber Wellington boots from Walmart. I need something that's water and snow proof for working with the animals. But these things only last about 6 months before the heel cracks. I'd consider buying a more expensive brand, IF I had the assurance that they'd last longer.

I used to have some Western boots that I'd bought at Walmart for about $50. They're like a cross between a cowboy boot and a Wellington. They're leather and have pull straps but they have a rounded toe, lower heel, and rubber soles. They also had steel toes. They were pretty good, other than the sole being nearly flat. Last pair lasted me 3-4 years before the rubber soles just collapsed. If I could find another pair that fits I'd wear them instead of the rubber boots since they're mostly water resistant, but Walmart stopped carrying them.

I usually get my $20 shoes from walmart as well, once every couple years. I ended up grabbing a pair of my Grandfathers shoes though when I went to his funeral (not at his funeral though!!), I have no clue how much they cost, but they are much nicer then the ones I usually get.

I can't believe people spend so much on shoes.
