In case you don't actually know anything about this game, I'd say play Jake first. The campaigns straight up spoil things about each other, but that's the one that even mildly matters in that regard.

Ada originally had to be last. Best to stick to that.

I've never started with anyone but Leon, though thinking on it there are a few things that might make Jake -> Leon -> Chris kinda neat. Chris should probably be last, though. (Outside Ada who's more of a quick bonus.)

They patched her campaign to be available from the jump not long after release IIRC.

I started Jake's campaign. Took an hour to finish the first section. I thought that was like a fifth of the campaign, turns out it's just a fifth of the first chapter of five chapters... of four campaigns.

People weren't lying when they said this game is really long. I finished RE2R in like six hours.

I also have not figured out how to use voice commands. Someone joined me in the game (which I was shocked by) and I couldn't communicate with him at all.

I actually agree that RE6 is underrated. It's not at all representative of what I want Resident Evil to be, but if you can get over that and just look at it for what it is, it's a pretty damn fun action shooter!

Some of the best sellers game in their franchises are because of hype from preveious (and better) games

Play Chris before Leon. The story is sort of ruined if you play Leon first.

Resident Evil 6 sold a lot in large part because 5 sold even more. It ended up being very frontloaded due to poor word of mouth and failed to hit Capcoms lofty sales targets. So the game wasnt even especially successful despite selling a ton.

And just as 5 helped 6 sell a lot, the reason 7s sales were low at first was the backlash to 6. But 7 got good word of mouth and is now set to outsell 6.

For those saying Leon before Chris here is why i think it's a bad idea. Spoilers for the game obviously. Towards the end of Chris's campaign you take out that fake Ada and Chris tells Leon about it. If you've already played through Leons campaign you know this is all bullshit and the scene means absolutely nothing at all. As for Jakes i can't remember much about it so couldn't say where it best fits in.

I am pretty sure every campaign spoil the other one at least a little so...just go with the order the game shows you (IIRC it was Leon-Chris-Jake-Ada)

Do Leons first three chapters, then Chriss first two, then Jakes first two, then Chris and Jakes third, then alternate for the rest of Chris, Jake, and Leon, with Adas whole campaign last. I think this is the best way to not spoil yourself or repeat yourself too much.

I'm already on Jake 1-3, which I chose mostly because Jake was leading the poll when I started. Based on what people are saying, I don't know if Leon or Chris should be the next campaign. Although I don't expect to finish this any time soon, I didn't realize how long this game is.

Say what you want about RE6, it has the most effort put into it out of all the Resident Evil games
Of course, effort does not equal quality, but still...it wasn't a cheap cash grab (like RE3 Remake was, sorry). It just had other problems.

Personally i thought 6 was actually pretty decent outside of the Chris campaign. Way better than 5 anyway. It's not as bad as some people seem to make out and that's coming from someone that prefers the classic tank style games.

I'll say this: the Jake campaign so far hasn't really been boring. It's lame and kind of bad, and Jake is a terrible character, but there are constant new set pieces and weird things, like using snowmobiles in an avalanche and stuff. It's not boring, it's just kind of bad.

I laughed when Jake got upset when Chris said he killed his father. Like, what does Jake care? Completely bizarre. Played as Sherry in it, there were multiple points where I had to do nothing because only Jake had stuff to do, which was funny. It's bad overall, but not like mindblowingly awful, just merely dumb and lame. The not!Nemesis who chases you throughout the campaign might be the worst element of it.

Will probably do Leon's campaign next, unless someone tells me otherwise.
