Pretty close between FF7R and Xenoblade

Xenoblade may have been my game of a decade but the definitive edition wasn't as vast of an improvement as I was hoping for although the quality of life additions were very nice.

The fact FF7R even exists as a retail product and by some miracle is legitimately great ( And might even be better than base FF7 despite being just the midgar section) might push it over the edge

Only two games I've played that released in the last year are Lenna's Inception and Monster Train. Both are good, but Lenna's definitely gets the edge, including against other games I've played for the first time this year that are older. I bought A Plague Tale with the steam sale, and that might end up being better, but I'm less than two hours into it.

this is strange. i haven't played any of these except for kentucky route zero, and that final episode was a bit of a raspy fart.

i usually feel like the games at the end of a console generation are a celebration of the technology, when the developers and tools have matured and games get really good, but it's not happening this year so far

Funny thing is I feel like the first Last of Us was the culmination of what the PS3 could do, and now Last of Us 2 is that same thing for PS4
