When it was localized to the Floridas and Texases of the world the reopenings seemed to be the culprit, but now that nearly every state is seeing increases regardless of where they are on the spectrum of reopening it doesn't seem to be as good an explanation. But idk

I think regardless of a state's active reopening stance there was definitely a sense in a lot of a general populace that we could relax a bit. People might not be going out but they were willing to have friends over again, mask use seemed to drop off, etc...

I think we are starting to feel that now.

When the states opened back up a lot of people thought it was OK to go back out, go to bars, go to the beach, go to parties, go on vacation etc. They thought that because the state opened back up it meant it was safe to live how we used to before.

Honestly, I think for most people it isn't economic growth. It is just general tiredness. I know people who by all accounts acknowledge that it is serious and will still wear masks and stuff while out, but at this point will still want to go to friends to hang out because they just need human interaction.

I'd argue the people that are doing nothing to help stop the spread (IE: not wearing masks, not socially distancing, acting like the virus is a hoax, etc.) is doing more to spread the virus than people doing some things to help stop the spread, but I guess I can't fight that iron clad logic in your post.

I don't think that at all, CNN ran a segment a few weeks ago specifically going into this and saying the protests hadnt lead to increases.

But that was a couple weeks ago when only the sunbelt states were seeing spikes. Only two states had any reduction in numbers this morning and most states were seeing increases

Jesus no one smart enough to say more wide spread testing? If we started wide spread testing for hepatitis, I promise you there will be a spike in hepatitis cases among the population. Case numbers going up only means the death rate is going to get smaller. In other words its just like people getting a cold. And remember when the whole world kept moving even if someone got a cold? Ahh the good ole days.

I mean anytime there's been any uptick in numbers there's a certain side of the political spectrum that blames the protesters when the facts (not that they care about them ever) say otherwise.
