Here are the three main reason why covid is spiking in the USA in no particular order. You have to be a partisan hack to disagree with them.
1) Massive protests from the left falsely and dangerously promoted by the media as non threatening.
2) The right disregarding covid as a hoax and not taking it seriously by wearing masks.
3) General fatigue and frustration from people who want the restrictions to be over.

I always thought movies and stuff where something bad happens and the whole story erupts into nonsense conflicts over how to deal with it while said thing continues to get worse and they fight each other instead of thing were silly.

again, I posted numerous links showing that the media claimed the protests would be superspreader events in the early weeks of protests.

the attitude was not itll be just fine it was this will probably spread the virus, but we are consciously making the decision to fight for black lives knowing that danger, and being as safe as we can

it was only after weeks of data collection that it was determined that the protests did not cause widespread outbreak

youd have to be a partisan hack to disagree with hard data

By "protests" they mean riots didn't cause the spread because most people are going to stay in their homes while their towns are looted, reducing exposure. That is literally the reason they gave in the articles.

What articles were you reading? I believe they literally said they couldn't determine whether protesters weren't spreading the virus, or if there wasn't a spread because less people were going out due to curfews and blocked traffic

No. That is what one article claimed. That is why I posted numerous articles from different sources around the country

other articles show, for example, that they have tested large sample sizes of people who reported that they were at protests and only a very small percentage of them (<1%) tested positive

there also has been contact tracing that found that less than 5% of people who did test positive reported going to protests, whereas a much higher percentage have reported going to bars

for example i know in my city that they have traced approximately 50% of recent cases back to bars.

the article focusing on Salt Lake City, in particular, breaks down the actual hard data pretty thoroughly
