As much as I love batman, the prestige is easily his greatest film.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was, and now what I'm with isn't it. And what's "it" seems weird and scary to me.

I like Batman Begins and The Dark Knight (though I've never liked The Dark Knight as much as some people do, because it kind of feels overpraised simply because Heath Ledger died). But The Prestige is easily my favorite film he's ever done.

I'm not a huge Nolan fan in general, though - no matter how hard critics masturbate over it every time he comes out with a new film, most of what he's done kind of leaves me cold. Most of the other movies on that list are generally "meh" to me at best.

I'm sort of tentatively interested in Tenet, though. It's hard to tell from the trailers, but it seems like an interesting premise.

Its honestly the dark knight. I had no attachment to ledger before I saw it, so that had nothing to do with my opinion of the movie. Its just a great movie.

TDK.

Was kinda okay with TDKR despite the dodgy choices, but wasn't that into BB. Read the spoilers/wiki for a few of his other films in the past, but haven't seen anything else.

Every time I see the Prestige I find it more and more incredible, the movie is a masterpiece and is one of those films that gets better on repeat viewings.

Something can be great and still be overrated.

Though I'd argue it's not even "great" as much as it's just "really good".

I find any of his movies that aren't part of the Batman series long-winded and boring as hell. Even the first Batman is hard to re-watch.

That's how the game is played though; as explained in "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back"

..do the paycheck gig, "then" do the art gig...

Obviously, WB wanted to reboot Batman after the shitty Clooney movie. And at that time Nolan hit it out of the park with Memento, so WB got their "patsy" to make their movie.

And with all that Batman money, Nolan made Prestige, Interstellar, Inception, and Dunkirk.....and honestly, he's received more acclaim from his non-Batman movies for it.

I thought it was because HL did a good job, but I guess not, fuck him anyways.

Ehhh

I found his performance to borderline on overacting. The writing might have partially been responsible. He was outperformed by every other main character in that movie.

As for the topic, I'd choose TDK as well, but I'll admit I've only seen the three Batman movies in that list.
