I liked it a lot in high school but obviously now I'm a grown bitter working adult and I've been removed from that environment for over a decade >_> So idk how much I can relate to it now

I don't like her personality. Being that pessimistic and at the same time think she's so ahead of the curve is some edgelord cringe shit. Of course so many nerds could relate to that.

Good. My only worry is that the DVDs I have cut all the music, which adds so much to the show. I feel like it would be like playing Tony Hawk with no music >_>

I do have a bunch pirated episodes that kept the music but not all the eps...

Well from what I read, they made the licensing deal before shows going to DVDs were a thing (the show did start in the 90s....). So when they wanted to bring it to DVD later, they would have to pay a shit load of money to relicense all the music again, so they only did specific tracks and replaced the rest with generic stuff >_>

It sucks, but the creator said that was literally the only way they could ever put it out on a DVD lol

The show might try to say Dario is a flawed character but I'm saying that doesn't matter because the fans and audience thinks she's right.

Kinda like how in the movie Wall Street, the audience loves Gordon Gekko even though the whole point of the movie is to show what an awful person he is? >_>

Daria as a character is so interesting to me, because when in high school, I wouldve definitely seen her as the infallible hero. Shes the kind of person 15-year-old Alis always wanted to be.

But now 30-year-old Alis can watch Daria and think thank God I moved past that phase. >_>

People should take no shame in looking back and being able to laugh at what they use to think. But as you can clearly see ITT some people are taking offense to know they blindly love edgy dumbshit back then.

I just couldn't stand her. She live in a upper middle class family, and all she did was judge other people and complain. Most of the popular kids are nice to her and she is mean to them. She was mean to Jean her best friend anytime she tried to do more. "Oh you playing sports now.. then fuck you." Her parents were great parents who cared about her and she ragged on them time after time.

I wonder how much of that was 90s myopia. Like if it was set today what kind of person would she be? Still so disaffected? Would the writers make the family so well off?
