Do you think this jerk should have plead Guilty?

44 y/o Bad Cop, Derek Chauvin was CLOSE to pleading GUILTY after negotiating with prosecutors over a guilty plea leading up to his arrest but then BACKED OUT of it before being arrested for 3rd degree murder which is now 2nd degree murder!!

Sources say he would've been "universal" and would have included state murder charges and federal civil rights charges

This comes as David Pinney, who worked as a security guard with both of them at a nightclub said the pair would regularly "bump heads" which led to Chauvin being extremely aggressive. He believes Chauvin knew Floyd when he was pinning him to the ground as he did not like him as well.

The Hennepin County Attorney's Office has since confirmed the existence of a plea deal but it ultimately failed as the reason for why it fell apart is unclear but it is assumed Chauvin wanted to "roll the dice" for an acquittal!!

Talks were ongoing on May 28th and even delayed a press conference that day by 2 hours but by Friday, Chauvin and his legal team decided not to plea guilty and then he was arrested as Minnesota AG Keith Ellison took on the case.

Ellison warned that it will be VERY HARD to get a conviction on ALL the officers as history as shown jurors have shown bias for officers of the law when it comes to crimes such as these

Chauvin is now segregated in his maximum security cell at the most secure prison in the state at Oak Park Heights

Do you think this jerk should have taken the deal to plea guilty?.

Why would he?

Upgrading his charge to murder pretty much solidified the fact that he won't be convicted.

Yep, hard to imagine him getting charged with anything over "negligent manslaughter".

That doesn't look like the cop in the video at all, did they just substitute one white man for another and figure we wouldn't notice?

I had thought from the beginning of this that it was personal and had nothing to do with race.

Derek Chauvin will probably get off
The three other cops will definitely get off
The two cops who pushed Martin Gugino will get off
Every other cop who maimed or killed a protester won't even be charged
The cops who killed Breona Taylor won't be charged

Have a good fucking day

Slanted poll is slanted...

...but yeah, if Chauvin wants his day in court he's entitled to get it.

People seem to forget Floyd was no saint either, despite being painted up as such by the BLM. And if Chauvin and Floyd had history, then Chauvin probably believes he had compelling reasons to keep him pinned down like he did.

Keep in mind too. Chauvin was put on suicide watch (according to TMZ, ya I know) so perhaps the real reason for flipping his plea is that he's damned if does, damned if he doesn't....and maybe if he is proven "not guilty", and he goes out on the street to be drawn and quartered by both rioters and protestors....at least the next big Netflix documentary 'should' tell the truth based on the evidence and testimony.

Yes. Normally, I would say no plea deals and he deserves the fullest punishment under the law, but the system would have found a way to rig the trial.

you say this as if it matters in the context of what happened. literally no one should be in that situation with the police unless they are posing a threat to themselves, the policeman/woman or someone else.

In The Count of Monte Cristo, the little doors were there so food was given to the prisoners without opening the main door of the cell.

It doesn't though, because in the grand scheme of things, Floyd was just another black man who was killed unjustly by a policeman. What he did before that isn't relevant to his death, nor to how society reacted to it.

It'd be completely different if he put himself in a position to be killed by police, but even then, he was already on the ground. There isn't any justification for what the police officer did. Cuff him and throw him in the police car.

It's relevant to the fact that he's being made a fucking martyr and people are idolizing this innocent little lamb who could never do any wrong. At least, that's how he's being portrayed.

String up Chauvin by his own entrails if you want, but Floyd's portrayal among the media and more importantly, the protesters, is enabling at it's finest.

You don't have to be some "innocent little lamb who could never do any wrong" to be deserving of due process and to not be murdered over some petty crime.

People are right to be outraged at the situation regardless of Floyd's past. That's not being enabled. That's being aware of their rights and recognizing that this man was murdered in the street while being denied his.

Who cares about what kind of person he was? That is completely irrelevant to the murder, he didn't attack the cops, he didn't fight, he was already in handcuffs ffs, he didn't deserve to die regardless of his past

No one's missing the point. I already said I don't give a fuck about Chauvin. He gets what he gets.

My point is that society is so driven to fixing one problem only to contribute to another. That's part of why it's hard to take any of it seriously.
