I find it easier to not speed swim to them, just go at the slow standard speed until youre right above and then I can usually get it in 1-2 dashes

Wait does the netting actually act as a barrier that the sea creatures can't swim past? In New Leaf they could just flee beyond where you could swim and then they'd just be gone. I just assumed it would be the same in NH, so the one time I found a gigas clam I tried my hardest to steer it away from the borders, lol.

The best way I've found to catch the gigas clams is to just sneak up on them the whole time. Slowly swim up to it until you're decently close (but not too close, or else your dive will scare it), dive, and then continue slowly swimming underwater until you reach it.

Finally got K.K. Slider to show up in my town! Seriously, I paid off my entire debt before bothering to get a 3* island rating.

And in New Leaf, finally got the final Nookling shop upgrade, because until earlier this year I legit did not know about the Gracie Fashion Checks and that there's a final upgrade after T.I.Y.

• 1? (each parent flower can only be used once)
• 2? (the left pair and the right pair, middle flower is a parent twice)
• 12? (each open space around the 3 flowers can be a child in the same night)

This is correct, but also the third flower will also have a chance to clone itself, so you can still end up with two new flowers.

More specifically it can happen if a flower has no possible breeding partners. So if it's a group of three, and two of them breed, then the third one is figuratively alone for the night. Flowers are a bunch of prudes, no threesomes allowed. :(
