I usually rarely play video games, but in the last month theres been 5 days where I started and finished a game same day.

It was alright. Not entirely sure why it got the attention it did. Also confusing why people talked about how you get to play it your own way and how that was revolutionary...I thought skill trees had been popular in games before 2007.

Great to play some bigger names that I didnt get to play over the last decade. probably will play shadow of the colossus tomorrow.

I couldn't make it through the first game. The environment was cool but the enemies were mind numbingly repetitive

I love all three Bioshocks but a lot of people hate 2 and Infinite

Bioshock two is the weakest of the series and not worth playing if you weren't thrilled by the first. Infinite is pretty good and different enough from the first game to be worth a look.

In Bioshock play your own way was the whole killing or saving the sisters thing and the fact that you could use different combos of powers to clear enemies.

It's not like some games like Deus Ex where you have a huge array of ways to solve problems. Anyways I thought the storyline in Bioshock was enough to keep me playing but I haven't played it in a long time. The game was far more revolutionary when it came out.

The game was not the first to use a skill tree plenty of games have done that before. The powers do play out differently though...

Bioshock 2 is kind of weak, but you HAVE TO play Minerva's Den, a DLC for it.

Biggest criticism I have for 2 is that they handed development off to a team other than 2K Boston/Irrational (can't remember what studio)... They did a decent job with the game, but they played it a little too safe. It's very similar to the first game. Not a bad thing, per se. But it doesn't really expand the gameplay or plot much.

Part 1 and Infinite are great. 1 is still my favorite.

2 can be considered "more of the same" with a less bombastic storyline. however pretty much everything about its gameplay has been improved tho still dont expect an amazing shooting experience. its storyline isnt as interesting, but unlike 1 it also doesnt peter out over time, but gets better and leads up to very well done end sequences. its dlc, Menerva's den, as far as being a self contained 4-5 hour entry is probably the best the whole series has to offer.

Infinite is more like 1 in that its presentation and world design takes center stage. its art direction and production values like 1 are insane and immensely well done. the shooting aspect has also gotten a significant bump, tho pretty much everything from a gameplay perspective has also been overly streamlined and dumbed down to a degree. Unlike 1 however its story doesnt loose its luster by the half way point. it just keeps getting more batshit till the end and while if you wanted to you can take it apart to your hearts content its still an interesting ride in the moment.

I never remember this

But my opinion on the matter is I love the atmosphere, and the plain ole fantasy weapons gameplay with no regenerating health or aim down sights bs.

The story is better in BS1 but BS2 has the better more refined gameplay but the story lacks abit. Basically if you enjoyed the first one theres no reason to not play the second one even if they are both very similar thematically.

Bioshock Infinite is WAY different but more modern. The guns dont feel very fantasy-esque and feel more military-like. But fighting on the skyrails is fun and lets you get around the battlefield very quick. The plasmids, now vigours are much more simple now but theres some nice combinations you can use in tandem for some pretty nasty attacks. Another downside is no passive powers this time. Story is eh.....interesting enough? Its okay.
The AI companion is pretty to look at and not a pain in the butt when fighting.

2 is a decent follow up, but 3 sucks shit and takes everything that made Bioshock unique and interesting and threw it away to make a generic shooter.

2 gets a lot of flak but it's a good game only real flaw imo is that it's very easy since you're a big daddy with guns, plasmids and Gene tonics.

Infinite is also fun it's a little different from Bioshock 1 and 2 but the core gameplay is still there and the skyhook is a wonderful tool to use

2 has much more developed gameplay than 1 although the story is weaker. The DLC is fantastic

Infinite is really good. Very different take on the series. Also has great DLC (well Burial at Sea anyway).

I'm a massive fan of the series so take that as you will.

Did you go out of the map after you take the first elevator? Its the only area where you can go underwater, and for some reason, even though youre not supposed to be there, they programmed water physics into it. I found it out as soon as I got there when the game released, but never put it online anywhere. Im sure most people know about it now.

The first and infinite are both great. The first being the better of the two. Bioshock 2 was still fun but more the same as Bioshock 1 and less interesting for me.

Are you going to play popular games to shitpost about them on here? If so that would already be a worse gimmick than your current one. Besides Helly already has that covered.

shadow of the colossus tomorrow.

Spoilers: You'll think it sucks.

Im just going through some games I missed, last four games (undertale, sonic forces, uncharted, bioshock) weren't good. One before (control) was great. SotC is a masterpiece, almost done.

Typo let me clarify infinetes ending was behind a pay wall. To get it you need to purchase the burial at sea dlc. Not trying to rile feathers but its the same kinda dlc end that azuras rath pulled. I want to specify that for these its not like the fallout 3 broken steel dlc as these endings were planned prior to release but were released after the publish deadline rather than expanding the game past the ending.

Its still fun but the vanilla ending just males you feel like "what thats it, all that for this".

So did Jack get his username from bioshock? I dont see ASlaveObeys being a quote in an Ayn Rand book before bioshock. I thought jack was here before 2007 though, so maybe it wasnt his first account.

Burial At Sea was not the ending of Infinite, though. It was a side-story connecting Infinite and Bioshock 1.
