Never been a fan of Terraria, however I imagine if this 8-bit treasure were to appear in high def it would become one of my favorites. Red Queen - Definitely awesome although I could never get the hang of revving it consistently. Regular button combos are already difficult enough for my two brain cells to keep up with, nor do I have the patience to practice the rhythm. So Red Queen usually remains gray for me. As far as design goes, it's a perfect representation for Devil May Cry. A sword that revs up like a motorcycle? Uh yeah duh it's DMC. Surprised it took them four games to come up with. Five-Ring Broadsword - Whoa! was my first reaction, never seen anything like this... maybe for a reason though? I was left to wonder about what function the rings could possibly fulfill, perhaps they could be used to disarm your opponent? Then watched it in action (which I might end up watching the show now, didn't know anything about it before) and the rings are just kinda there. If anything they just make more noise, which honestly would annoy me. Rings add to the appearance though for sure, without them it'd just be a regular ass chinese broadsword then who would even care am I right who's with me Curse Crusher - Have not seen Onward, could only find one pic of this on google, and allegedly it can break curses. That's neat. The single image I found presents a nice mystical lookin' sword, I like the gap in the base of the blade, uhhh but I can think of a certain fantasy vg sword that does it better Galaxia - This thing looks like it would utterly tear through any and all flesh, especially with the speed Meta Knight whirls it all about. Either that or it would be completely impractical in the real world. Just imagine if Kirbyverse was rated M. Oof, Meta Knight is a whole lot more violently threatening in that alternate reality... I would play it. Concealed Spoon Knife - This is one of those rare instances when genius ingenuity shines through and makes everyone else look foolish by comparison. This dude wasn't privileged enough to carry a tool around such as a swiss army knife wherever he goes like the rest of us normal folks. But see he didn't need no regular ass tool, he wanted a weapon. His intent was to inflict real damage, I'm talking big HP loss here, to any of this man's enemies. Most blades aim to wound but this masterfully crafted weapon will immediately dispatch any adversary without them ever even getting a chance to realize they need to raise their guard. Too late they dead. Armadyl Godsword - Well that sure is a name I don't know how to pronounce. Arm-UH-dill? Ahm-ah-deel... fuck it anyway this sword is a weird one. I also know nothing about its source material which is irrelevant. Don't really care for the wings on the blade, Galaxia has a similar issue but it's designed better imo since the more compact and cartoony design do it a lot of favors. Not the same case here, Amygdala Godsword just looks clunky and unwieldy to me, but maybe being a sword of gods means it doesn't need to care about its size. Crescent Rose - Oh hey, a scythe that's a rose and not a dahlia. Here presents a tough choice for me, which scythe is better? Dahlia or Rose... Hmm. Well Ruby's scythe is basically a Bloodborne trick weapon just with more magic involved. Either way that's pretty much automatically a win. I mean Marluxia might have the prettier scythe, bc he does, the colors are more... colorful. Mmm color... Ruby is the better character though plus that first RWBY trailer with the Red Like Roses music is still hauntingly perfect. So yeah maybe nothing to do with their respective designs but oh well outlying factors deems that the rose wins. Nightblood - Ayyyy, my boy. Nightblood is great. Don't wanna say too much about him but needless to say he's my favorite living sword. He's just a sword that was brought to life with magic to destroy evil. Problem is evil is quite the subjective term so he doesn't always target the right people. Also wielding him can very likely kill you. But I love him! Freddy Krueger's Glove - Quite the multifunctional glove you have there, not only can it keep your hands warm but it can also be used to torment and torture your victims! Very nifty, very useful. Much recommend. I mean if you're one of those types that like to get up close and personal way too personal Sword of the Creator - There's a lot of FE swords to choose from, most of which I have experience with. But hey I have yet to progress very far in Three Houses. I do recognize this as the sword that Byleth uses in Smash though, I think. Also a whip. Pretty cool yeah. It sure urges me to get back to playing the game to witness its story for myself. Hmm one day... one day for sure. Master Sword - We have arrived! This is the only sword that I hold in higher regard than lightsabers. Both of which entered my life around the same time and both have stuck with me ever since. Pure majesty here, the purple hilt with a wondrously polished blade, shining shimmering splendid. Tell me princess now when did you last let your heart decide. If I were an anime character who didn't care about copyright laws I would dual wield a (purple) lightsaber and the Master Sword. Not a big fan of Star Trek and honestly can't recall ever seeing this weapon in action... looks like it has about one or two attack combos. Also probably a chore to wield but I'm not a Klingon maybe that's the difference maker. Double-Bladed Lightsaber - Back when I was 9 and saw it for the first time it was the coolest thing, I spent hours twirling around a plastic model in my backyard positive that everyone was jealous of my skills... Uh nowadays it's just kinda boring to me. Prefer dual wielding lightsabers with separate colors. I do enjoy the acrobatic flair most practitioners tend to utilize with the double-bladed lightsaber, and it's better when it comes to deflecting lasers back. Otherwise a regular lightsaber is more efficient. Sword of Omens - Nice design, simple in a good way. The hilt is just as silver and shiny as the blade, and the red and blue gems or whatever they are make the sword prettier. Combined with the neat red logo at the base of the blade these details cause the sword to stand out. Otherwise it would be generic. Apparently it can extend when attacking which is a nifty ability. On an alternate earth there's a version of me that loves Thundercats and would place this at the top. Ea - I read some of the wiki and watched a video or two... and I still don't really know what to say here. First of all it's not even technically a blade, it's more of a baton. When I look at it all I see is a stylized version of those orange baton things they use to guide planes on the runway. Seriously that's all it is and I can't get over it I'm sorry Life Ender - It's a nail? Never played Hollow Knight although been tempted bc that style is so very attractive. Regardless googling the name brings up the character who apparently carries a nail around that he named Life Ender. It has no special features that I'm aware of. It's a nail... or am I missing something Altera's Sword - Nice! The multi-colored blade earns it several points right off the bat. Never seen anything like it though I do believe colorful swords should be more popular. That short clip also reveals to me that it spins! It's a rainbow revolver sword. Not sure how deadly it could really be but I would sure feel glorious carrying this gorgeous work of art into battle. Rebellion - Assuming this is the Dante's Sword that we're discussing and not the new one. Always loved Rebellion, it's got somewhat of a basic design but in Dante's hands it really shines. NEVER heard of him/it but apparently Wolverine has wielded this blade so that accounts for something I'm sure, magic abilities too hooray. It looks like a regular muramasa which absolutely is a dope ass sword no lying, but otherwise rather plain Caliburn - Well I guess I prefer the idea of Sonic with a sword over Shadow with a gun... either way is a bad idea though. At least Caliburn is pretty. And he talks! Can't get enough of those talkin' swords I tell ya what Ultima Weapon - See now before remake I would easily have ranked this above the regular old Buster Sword, and this technically isn't fair since we don't have an HD version of the Ultima Weapon yet. Oh wait Dissidia exists with a version that's neat as all hell. I wonder if they'll use that base design with more refinement or something else entirely. Ooo can't wait to see time to hibernate til all 7 parts are released Needle - Man Arya was so cool up until she wasn't. Undoubtedly that can be said for anyone who survived til the end. Needle itself is a simple little piece of work, and quite effective for the little girl who was meant to wield it. Would look silly in a grown man's hands. Also not personally a fan of pokey weapons yeah it might be the most best weapon for speedruns but you'll still never see me using a rapier Great Knife - Yo pyramid head is creepy, which makes the famed Great Knife creepy by association. Taken by itself it's just a really big knife which I mean yeah that's cool and certainly my first choice for consolidating all the dead bodies everywhere (like that one korn song get it) No Name - This to me is the culmination of keyblades getting fatter and fatter. Xehanort just had to have the bulkiest of them all, maybe he thinks it's more intimidating but I think it makes him look more goofy than Goofy. The mischievous eye at the top does truly appeal to me though. Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker - It's rare for axes to catch my eye but this one certainly does. Effectively it's just an axe but I love how happy it looks. Soul Edge - When I was an edgy teen and played Soul Calibur bc Link was in it Soul Edge spoke to my twisted sensibility. Now as an edgy adult I recognize it as just another demon devil monster sword. Which is fine but I prefer the purified titular version of this symmetrical soul sucker Murasama - No google I didn't mean Muramasa show me the damn sword from MGR plz. "High-frequency blade" close enough thank you jeezus. I'll actually lump the nomination for said blade in with this, although the Murasama is probably the coolest out of them all. Granted I never got into Rising myself so I have more emotional attachment to Raiden's HFB from 2 and 4, but can't beat Murasama's beautiful crimson color. And also what appears to be a gun scabbard which I'm pretty sure is actually used to shoot actual bullets Sting - Similar to Needle, looks damn good in the hands of the small person it was made for. Sting has a very simple shape as it is forged for someone who doesn't see a lot of combat. But damn if it isn't shiny. Swords are typically silver but this one is silver Vorpal Sword - Well there's quite a few different images that pop up so I presume it's the D&D fella. Either way it's the one I'm going with since it's the most awesome. It resembles the Master Sword, to the point where if you palette swap it the untrained eye might have difficulty telling the two apart. That is to say this would be one of my all-time favorites if it had more than a single depiction. For complete clarity here we are discussing the sword with the black hilt and red blade, the one that looks like the Master Sword Crissaegrim - What a name that I had to stare at until it made sense. Also search results are a little wonky but the best thing I'm seeing here is a katana-esque work of absolute perfection. Comes in silver or black (scientifically the slickest colors).
