Do you believe the World Health Organization is heavily influenced by China's government?

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-52088167

On Saturday, Hong Kong broadcaster RTHK aired an interview with Bruce Aylward, the WHO assistant director-general, who spoke to journalist Yvonne Tong on a video call.

In the segment, Ms Tong asks if the WHO would reconsider letting Taiwan join the organisation. She is met with a long silence from Mr Aylward, who then says he cannot hear her and asks to move on to another question.

Ms Tong presses him again, saying she would like to talk about Taiwan. At this point, Mr Aylward appears to hang up on her.

When the journalist calls Mr Aylward again, she asks if he could comment on Taiwan's response to the coronavirus.

Mr Aylward then replies: "Well, we've already talked about China."

His last line appeared to mirror China's stance on Taiwan, which is that the island is a breakaway province. Taiwan, however, considers itself an independent country.

WHO is an UN organization, that considers Taiwan a part of China. Until Taiwan is a member of the UN, the WHO cannot recognize it as separate from China.

WHO is an UN organization

which means their entire power structure is based on whatever funding they get and from what countries

so if a large part of their funding comes from China then they are gonna likely have China-friendly policies and positions, just like the UN often has policies that appease the wealthier UN nations

Do not believe the Chinese lies. The Communist Party there claims that the virus is more or less stopped there, even though tens of millions of urns have been manufactured there.

China is not to be trusted. And billions of innocent people are forced to submit to the Chinese Communist Party there.

That is basically my point yes, because countries like China, Russia and the US hold so much power in the UN, the UN and UN backed organizations cannot acknowledge countries like Taiwan, Kosovo and Palestine.

The real problem is how the UN deals with the Taiwan/China situation as a whole, which in turn affects how many other nations and organizations react to it.

It's also worth noting that, in spite of being one of Taiwan's biggest supporters overall, even the US refuses to officially acknowledge the political existence of Taiwan. Even as we sell them tons of military hardware.

Basically, China has pretty much threatened to murderfuck anyone who supports Taiwan, and no one has the balls to risk them following through. Which has become an even worse problem with China's reascendancy as an economic superpower tied to the global economy. Even if you assume China's threats are hollow, you don't want to risk losing their business.

Essentially, Taiwan isn't important enough for anyone to go to bat for, regardless of what is "right" or "ethical". Because politics have literally never been about what is "right" or "ethical". At most it's a convenient counterbalance to China, but we'd sell them out in a heartbeat if they ever become more of a burden than a boon.

You said they would "murderfuck" the United States military.

That's odd. You seem to be suffering from some odd sort of dyslexia that combines words from entirely different paragraphs and randomly adds words that don't exist into the text to create sentences that literally no one ever said.

You should probably see a doctor. That's going to cause you problems some day.
