The patch adds two returning keyblades, Oblivion and Oathkeeper, as well as a handful of new abilities for Sora.

Unlock requirements for the keyblades are as expected/rumored, but I'll spoiler text them anyway.

Oathkeeper: Collect all Lucky Emblems and turn in the reward item Proof of Promises to your nearest Moogle
Oblivion: Complete the game on Critical and turn in the reward item Proof of Times Past to your nearest Moogle

Oathkeeper's first transformation is Light Form, while Oblivion's is Dark Form, and both feature Double Form, in which Sora dual-wields the pair, as their second transformation.

For those wondering, by all accounts there are almost no changes to the main story. The few that there are are mostly toward the end and even then basically entirely to do with visual touch-ups.

Sounds like gameplay got a big boost between the new abilities that got added along with general tweaks to speed/ending lag, though.

In that interview, Nomura said the changes to the main game would be mostly cosmetic.

They did say that stuff in the main story would be updated, and that's an accurate statement! There were indeed changes within the main story - just not the massive additions and re-shuffling that people tricked themselves into believing were a given.

I've been hearing that these plus the slight system tweaks make the game feel way more KH2-y, which is marvelous news.

DLC is out! I started it at launch (EST); right now I'm still in the replay the Keyblade Graveyard but now you can sometimes play as a different character portion of the story.

Yeah, though so far its been the Keyblade Graveyard with added scenes and some playing as Riku/Aqua/Roxas, showing Soras journey to rescue Kairi.

Havent gotten to Limit Cut yet, cant speak to that.

I'm out of the KH loop but I am still curious since it's hitting my timeline. People I know seem PRETTY down on this DLC. Sounds like a bunch of stuff is rehashed in/repeated from the main game. Accurate, or an exaggeration?

I'm not finished yet but yes so far it's been a lot of the same fights as the main story just with added scenes/more context. Some of the new scenes are so minor I can barely tell what's new and what was in the original game. Reserving judgement until I'm finished but not looking good so far.

Well from what I've played so far, it's broken into two parts., Re:Mind and LimitCut Episode. Re:Mind is pretty much in the name, it's reminding you of how the final section went down with more context/fight perspectives/what was happening on the sidelines. I went through all of that last night, and then I'm just in the beginning stages of LimitCut which is all the Organization one on one fights. Seems like there might be something at the end of that. I can see people being not very happy with the stuff so far depending on your mood, there was a little stretch in the middle that it seemed actually nothing changed and even I was like "huh". But the rest have had neat little add ons and such that I enjoyed. Also I legit really like the final sequence of KH3 so I'm fine going through it again.

It's a new option on the main menu. You need a completed save file to play Re:Mind and then you need to beat Re:Mind to unlock Limit Cut. Beating all of the bosses in Limit Cut unlocks the secret episode I believe

Random question, once you finish ReMind can you go back into the rest of the worlds or are you locked into Limit Cut? (And I guess same question regarding LC, once you've done that are you locked into the secret episode?)

I knew that first bit, yeah, I'm into Scala ad Caelum myself. From what I've read since, once you've finished ReMind you can choose whether you want to load into the main game or Limit Cut (press square instead of X when loading to return to main game).

Just watched the ending.

Why is showing up in Shibuya something that the characters are freaking out about? How is this different than what you always do? You literally went to San Fransokyo. One world you went to turned you into a lion.

Beat the Remind Episode. Yes, most of it was rehash, but they still mixed it up a bit. And I did have a lot of fun playing as Kairi and exploring Scala.

Now Limitcut Episode is were it's at. Yay Radiant Garden. Only beat Data YX so far, but it was really cool.

Main story apparently has some extra scenes and touched up stuff for the finale stuff. I'm going through critical mode first (skipping cutscenes and such up to endgame stuff) before hopping into ReMind and beyond

I think there are new achievements but not for critical specifically. I think there is something for those two new extra modes.

Critical mode gets you Oblivion though.

Haha, jumping into ReMind after not playing KH for a year was weird. I dropped into a boss fight and didn't even remember how to block! I feel like I could almost you some kind of "this is how to play Kingdom Hearts" video to remember everything I can/should do.

I dunno. I didn't have a problem with it! Although the first few fights aren't very difficult, so there's some room to re-adjust to the controls.

Yeah I jumped in a few days before the DLC dropped to farm Ultima weapon and my first few battles were very awkward.

Leveled from 55 to 99 in about 45 minutes last night after beating ReMind so I could start these Limit Cut bosses. Some of these bosses are pretty damn hard
